Alternative to Windsor Hills and Wyndham Bonnect Creek?

Hi All,

It seems Windsor Hills and Wyndham BC are the most popular places to stay.

I am looking for a place for 8 people, mostly a 3 bedroom home instead of a condo because of the extra bathroom and room.

Anyone suggest any alternatives? Because I just planned a last minute vacation for the 3rd week of July.

We will be spending most of the time in disney and a couple of days at universal...we do have 2 toddlers with us so Windsor Hills or WBC seem good if we want to take a rest in the afternoon.

Also this is my first time booking a place so not sure what I have to do verify if the owners are legit or creditable? I hear people check if owners pay their taxes and stuff? Is this necessary?

I am in contact with someone who is in England and they have no phone number and only reply to my mails once a day...they have a property at Windsor Hills but I'm not sure about renting because they are not very responsive, don't have a site which I can pay by pay pal. They do have a property management company though.

I did find a couple of people with a 3 bedroom home in WH but I need it starting from July 15th and they have only the 16th available so i would have to find another place for a night...not sure I want to do that as I would like to settle in on the first day and then hit the parks.

Coming down to the wire so I need to book something fast and would like to stay at a nice place at the same time.

Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I checked and it appears most places are booked for your dates.

I did find some availability in the following neighborhoods:

3 BR townhome in Emerald Island (gated community near Windsor Hills):

http://www.vrbo.com/196019

4 BR homes in Sunset Lakes (gated community - uses a code):

www.vrbo.com/72024
www.vrbo.com/84569

4 BR home in Indian Creek (next door to Windsor Hills but not gated):

www.vrbo.com/226582

Please note I have not stayed at any of the above properties.

Good luck with your search!

Thanks, I'll take a look at those, anyone had any experiences with these communities listed above?

I always rent from Alison Meacham. She has two homes in Windsor Palms. She is easy to deal with and prices are reasonable.

When I need a three bedroom, I often book three bedroom condos at either Cypress Pointe or Cypress Pointe Grand Villas. Both these places have tons of three bedrooms. For stays of seven days, I typically find rentals on Redweek.com or TUG2.net classified ads rental sections and rent directly from timeshare owners. These places do retail rentals too and sometimes have pretty good deals. These timeshares are lovely, have a great Lake Buena Vista location quite close to the downtown Disney entrance, and although it would be a little bit of a walk actually have some nearby resturants, etc. you could even walk to.

Emerald Island might be my "sleeper choice". It doesn't have the name recognition of WH or WBC, and so the prices are a little bit lower. But the homes are comparable to WH's, and the location is still really quite good.

just stayed at CPGV a few weeks ago..We had 3bd 3 full bath, plenty of room.
loved the location.:)princess:

I haven't looked into Cypress Pointe or Cypress Pointe Grand Villas but I am looking into Emerald Island.

Basically I have found a 3 bedroom condo at WH but it only has 2 baths. There are 6 adults and a couple of kids so it may be cramped.

There are a couple of 3 bedroom towns in WH but only for 7 days and I would need to adjust for one day, not sure where to do or if it is worth the trouble. They are also cheaper than the 3 bedroom condo. $87 per night.

Found a couple of 4 bedroom homes in Emerald island for 800 and 1000 taxes in for 8 nights.

Not sure what to do? We have a toddler and a 10 year old, which resort would be the best?

Spend the extra few dollars and get a 4BR home somewhere. You will be glad you did.

Honestly, if it were me I would go with the 4 BR home in Emerald Island. You will be much more comfortable in the bigger space with that many people. We travel with 6-7 people and always go for a 4 BR house. You also don't have to worry about switching your dates.

Good luck with your trip!

We stayed at Emerald Island on our recent trip and found the location to be really convenient. The area was nice and the homes quite spacious and good quality. The drive to Disney was quite short and easy to make.
