We are thinking about extending our upcoming trip for 3 nights. However all Disney Resorts are booked. Can anyone give me some advice on downtown disney hotels? Hilton, Grovesnor, etc.....

Thanks

Most folks here are pretty Disney loyal. You might want to try asking this on the Orlando Hotels board. :teeth:

I stayed at the Wyndham Palace and it was fine. I don't know if Wyndham still owns it, though. It might have a new name.

Honestly, the Downtown Disney hotels all look fine to me. :)

I'm not sure if you checked the swan and dolphin, or if they are in the price range you want.

You get the extra magic hours, has the great disney transportation, the location is awesome.

Its a great hotel we like it alot.
I can't remmeber which downtown disney hotel has extra magic hours.

Mousesavers.com has hotel reviews and recomendations. Its at least a starting point.
Good luck,

Connie

The Doubletree GUEST SUITES in DTD is very nice...lots of space for the money.

Is there a reason you'd be wanting a DTD over any offsite resort? Honestly, I think they are great hotels, however for the price I think there are lots of choices that are right outside the gates.

We are staying at the Grand Floridian from 11/25/06 through 12/02/06. We are considering extending our vacation through 12/05/06 but all onsite resorts are filled. I was looking for somewhere close so the move would be easy and we would not loose much park time.

Ditto - Hilton or Doubletree Suites. Great beds, linens and pillows. Spent a week at DTS last January, great breakfast bar. Was just at Hilton before and after my week at POP in Sept. Very nice hotel, great pool area and literally across the crosswalk from DTD. Will go back to both in a heartbeat ! Got Hilton only weeks ahead for $109 night.

Also look at www.mousesavers.com for their preferred hotels. Through her link you can get some good prices on the better DTD hotels.

I agree with trying the Swan or Dolphin. They are walking distance to MGM and Epcot.
