Already booked trip- if they Come out with a special offer later, can I opt in?

I've already booked our vacation for late November and paid a deposit. Let's say Disney comes out with some kind of special offer during the time of our trip. Can I call them up and get in on the discount?

It depends on the terms of the offer, but usually they are only for new bookings.

You can always change your reservation. There are penalties if you are closer than 45 days (for packages) or 5 days (for RO) prior to arrival.

That being said, a lot of stars have to align properly for you to be able to make the switch (you're not just "applying" the discount to an existing reservation, even though your confirmation number will not change).

• The resort must be included in the offer.
• Your travel dates must be included in the offer.
• The room type (preferred, water view, etc.) must be available.
• The length of stay at your resort and for your days must be available.

There were many disappointed people when *free* dining was announced for the fall. Disney opened up a lot fewer rooms for the deal. Not only that, but they are now sticking to a formula that releases only a limited number of rooms for different length of stays. So what ends up happening is that if you have a 5-night stay and they have your room available for 7 nights during your visit, you can't have it unless you book for the 7 nights because that's what the room has been blocked off for.
