Already booked for Dec. 4-9 and now I'm worried.

Just today I booked a Good Neighbor Resort vacation package, checking in on Dec. 4th and out on Dec. 9th. After reading about all the extra crowds this fall (must be due to the 50th celebration), along with the fact that I completely forgot about the candlelight processional, and it takes place Dec. 3rd & 4th (I think), I'm extremely worried about the crowds. I was specifically trying to plan to be there when the attendance would be low. What can I do? Any suggestions?

I was thinking about making a side trip to Lego Land in the middle of our vacation to break things up a bit, but now I'm thinking that it would be better to go to Lego Land on Monday the 5th because crowds may still be heavy at DL due to the Candlelight Processional taking place the previous weekend (the 3rd and 4th). I'm hoping Tues, Weds, and Thurs will be lighter attendance days at DL. What do you think? Should we go anywhere else? (It'll be myself, DH, and our two boys ages 6 and 2)

We were there during the candleight processional last year, and if it created crowds I didn't notice them. In fact other Australians we met in our hotel got asked to sit near the front to make it look as though the seats were filled.

It may add a few people during the time it is on, but they were well and truly gone by the next day when we were there.

We went December 1-5 and the longest queue we had was 20 minutes for Peter Pan on a Sunday and the same for Autopia. We walked straight on to Pirates, Haunted Mansion, Splash etc. Had about a 10 minute wait for Indiana. Grizzly was empty and Soarin had small queues which we bypassed with fastpass.

We went on a weekend in June and I was worried about the crowds. It was crazy during the day, but our strategy on "crowded" days is to go when the park opens, take a break at lunchtime, then come back in the evening, have dinner and enjoy more attractions. Since you're going for more than a few days, and the park has extended hours, you could do that strategy for those days.
