Wow. WDW can not catch a break with earnings report and drop in Theme Park attendance. They New York Times did a recent story yesterday about prices and value. It has generated 1K+ comments.

Vulture is doing a 10-part podcast about the Company, is history, and its struggles. And I just discovered Bright Films, with this sobering and honest Youtube Video about 2017 vs 2024 prices. (Summary: A trip to Italy/Iceland even Far East cheaper than a week at WDW. And a 7 day DCL cruise =7 days at WDW with mediocre food and subpar experience)

I think we FINALLY are reaching a tipping point with prices, customer experience, and upcoming recession
 
Nothing new under that sun. And seeing as Disney went out and introduced FOMO inducing SP/MPLL where if you want anything good you have to pay before you know the weather or if you scored a VQ making trips even more expensive I don’t think Disney has started caring about the “bad” publicity yet.

Disney surely doesn't feel the same. Based on my most recent hotel experience, they would rather let some rooms stay empty for several nights than giving them to me for a small discount.

They brought back $99/park deal.
Brought back Dining Plan.
Got rid of reservations.
Announced massive $Billion investment in WDW parks.

Thank goodness for Universal Epic Universe for forcing WDW to adapt. If it wasn't for them, WDW (and EPCOT) would languish.

Some of these perks don't apply to us. We have never used the Dining Plan and have no intentions of doing so. I just renewed all our IncrediPasses and the discounted renewal rate was still higher than the full rate pre-Covid. We still have to do park reservations. The rooms I usually book still don't have good discounts like the old time. Disney may have lowered their pricing for some people, but not for us. Since we do not benefit from any of the new or returning perks, we can't agree with you on the opinion that Disney has reached a tipping point.

We're aware that the cost had increased, but the park experience had also improved for us so we don't mind paying more.

Looking forward to attending Epic Universe next year!
