Blue punch buggy; no punch back!

Hey everyone! I'm a total newbie here. I've been watching The DIS for a while now and have really been enjoying the help on planning a dream action!

It will be my first time BACK to the parks in seven years; this time being special because it's my first without family. Just my boyfriend and me!
We're planning to enjoy the 50th Celebration and all it's EARidescence in full swing, AND our five year anniversary!
We've never ever stayed at Deluxe before and we're hoping to do a split stay for a two full weeks around the Late August/Sept area.
This will be the dream of our lifetime for us. We simply can't wait!

If you stay Deluxe at that time I would recommend Animal Kingdom Lodge if you love animals or Polynesia if animal are not your thing and the Beach/Yacht club for the pool.

Congratulations on your upcoming 5 year! Welcome to the forums. I LOVE deluxe resorts (which is why I purchased DVC). Each and every one of them has a special charm. Please look around and if you have any questions, ask away!

If you are looking at a deluxe, you might want to consider renting DVC points from someone (not me - I am using mine!). A lot of owners have a surplus of points, and it's a less expensive way to get into a deluxe resort.

My favorites are of course the ones I own - BLT / Contemporary and AKL. But each resort is different and may be right for you depending on your situation.

2 weeks is a long time! Are you doing more than just Disney? Make sure you look into some of the non-park related activities around WDW and I recommend you plan for a few relaxation days!

Thanks for your amazing reply! We saw that DVCRENTALSTORE had a great deal with cancellation policy and more! I’ve never stayed on property or deluxe but renting points seems awesome!
mid be a bit nervous to rent from random DVC memebers on here without a middle man but only because I’ve never done it before!

We’re looking into Last week two weeks of August 2022 bleeding into the first couple days of September leaving Saturday before Labor Day Monday!

Hoping to stay 1 week Aug 21-27 at AKL, see Floridian family sat/sun then start 2nd half of trip Aug 28-Sept 3 at Beach Club Villas.
Were young and scrappy and plan to do Parks/Hoppers all 5 weekdays of both weeks! Mid day pool breaks in between, and split stay with family visit on the weekend!
Haven’t been in over 7 years so 100% positive we have A LOT to do at the parks alone!

Wow! That sounds like a ton of fun! Also look into David's. They are a popular place to rent DVC points from as well. I would definitely recommend you use a broker and not deal directly with the DVC member you do not know. That way your money is held in escrow and is a lot safer for both of you! Keep in mind there are some minor differences between DVC villas and the hotel section of the resort - both in room layout and amenities and also in the services (that's less pronounced right now due to the pandemic) so definitely do your research on those, or head over to the DVC section and ask so you are going in knowing what to expect.

AKL is one of my home resorts, and of course a favorite of mine. Do not be dismayed by people who claim
"it's far away". It's not really inconvenient since you have to take a bus no matter where you go, and waking up and looking out over the Savannah is AMAZING. Make sure you spare some time to eat at Boma or Sanaa while you are there if you have a taste for African cuisine (or even if not). By the time you are there, Lily and her Baby should be out on the Savannah, so you will want to look for them as well. If it's back open (it should be) be sure to ask about the nighttime animal watching using infrared glasses.

Beach Club is an easy walk to EPCOT, so if you can park hop at night, it's an excellent time to sneak into EPCOT for dinnertime and a nice walk back to your hotel room.

Again, welcome to our little corner of the internet and please feel free to ask as you get closer if you need any specific advise for your planning!

Thank you so much for all your tips and everything! Disney is a lot of planning, but it makes it all worth it to have that magical vacation with the ones you love!
Thanks again for being so sweet! Y’all are awesome!
