My dh goes to auctions all the time. About a month ago, he told me he found an auction that I would like. A sb store had been foreclosed upon and the auction was yesterday. Well, how could I pass that up?
There weren't that many people there, probably only about 10 at the most that was bidding on the scrapbook supplies. I "bought" a section for $30 that had about 45 punches, a cropper hopper paper holder, a glass cutting mat, tons of die cuts, a lot of metal embellishments and gobs of other stuff.
The next section that I "bought" was for $60 and had a box with probably 200 sticker sheets-large size ones, really cute stuff, lots of laser cuts, 6 plastic organizers full of stuff, and lots more.
I was so excited, I couldn't wait to get home and start really digging through all my goodies. My dd b'day is next month, and I was already planning what I was going to save out for her.
Well, at the end of the auction, they add up what everything sold for, then add 10% on to that and offer up the whole lot as a bulk sale. Right at the last second, some woman bid on the whole lot and took everything. My dh said they have to offer it that way-state law or something- but that he had never seen anyone actually buy the whole lot. Me and everyone else who had won the various items were so disappointed.
So, like I said, I almost had a good bargain!
