AllStar Sports or DD Hilton 12/29-1/1

I have a res for AS Sports, but now I see a good rate for those dates at the DD Hilton, just $26 higher, and the Hilton participates in Extra Magic Hour at WDW. I was thinking that at such a busy time of year, there may be more to do at the Hilton when the parks get unbearable, as it is close
to Downtown Disney. I've never stayed at either. Any opinions or experiences? Does the Hilton get all decorated for the holiday? Thanks alot!
