AllStar Sports joins the pintrading Frenzy (No LE500 Dangle though)

The AllStar Sports joined the realm of pintrading last everybody showed up well all the locals and a few Ebay needtosellpins types… They were looking for that rumored LE500 dangle pin that was to be released.

How do these rumors get started anyway

Dom and Kathie from far away were there, of course Kathie went on and on about how much better Disneyana was then pin trading so we all just smiled and nodded politely. (she was there for the LE500 as well don't let her fool ya)

See Kathie I didn't even mention the butt incident.

Bob and June were there as well as Amber and Joann, these four are always there I don't think they ever leave. (Really)

Ken showed up and yes he found a roommate for the cruise a Jeffery Dawmer, Dammar, something like that. Looks like the 24-year-old Victoria secret model changed her mind tough darts farmer. Hey there's always the May cruise.

Larry was there letting me know that he had to replace all the electronics in house due to a lightning strike… Uhmmm Dad this is F.L.O.R.I.D.A Lightning capital of the world… HELLO surge suppressors anyone. I look at this way look at all the newer stuff I will inherit. YESSSSSSSSS!!!!!

Darlene AKA (Not Peggie) AKA (Vice Peachident) and for the record that girl just never does not smile I think she had a permanent smile surgically done. She always a breath of fresh air to be around, I got to meet her hubby and he's not a pin trader just a pin financier like me.

AND LOOKIT Darlene got her holy grail hubby thought that meant the end… poor man he just don't get it.

Anywho it was a fun evening, I did find a new way to amuse myself… like let a cast member wear your lanyard IE mine with all the fancy stuff like wet paint, Lilo and Stitch LE and poolside Mickey, then as they turn around and get mobbed by the pin traders, they just say its not theirs they are holding it for a friend… hee hee drove the traders nuts.

The only super funny thing was watching the pin traders' scope out the cast members behind the ribbon; they had lots of shiny new lanyard series pins. The trader were planning strategies before they cut the ribbon… I'll go to her on the left you hit him on the right then switch… I'll throw the baby carriage in back of me to trip up the others, and you jump over the mob to get to the manager.

It was not like that at all it was civilized (really) the only thing was the poor guy from the AllStar had a nice speech all ready to say before he cut the ribbon, it was about 25 minutes long covering the history of pin trading from then to now, but 2 minutes into it the crowd got restless and started to growl, so he just cut the ribbon and ran.

Hey, we were there too!! Had a great time and made some wonderful trades. My boys LOVED the kid's area but loved even more the wheeling and dealing with other collectors. (The little blondie with the crewcut who jumped up and down and yelled when he saw a pin he liked? One of mine. Sorry to those of you he pestered constantly, he doesn't quite get the value-for-value pin trading concept, but we're working on it!)

It felt VERY vulture-y when we first got there, I must admit...we almost left because it just didn't seem like a very warm atmosphere, and the bloodthirsty gotta-be-the-first-to-have-it mindset isn't one I want my boys to adopt re: trading. (We're already struggling with the 'gotta have the lanyard series' syndrome, I'm trying to encourage them to get what they LIKE, not what they think will impress everyone else). However, I am so glad we stuck it out because we met so many warm and wonderful people as the evening wore on.

Ditto tonight's gig at the Contemporary. Actually, I met a lot of new traders there, which was wonderful!!

Ok, off to bed.....after all, another pin-trading night starts in less than 48 hours!

I just got home from WDW and had a great week. I got to meet up with some on line friends for the first time, meet up with some old friends and make some new ones.

The pin you see me smiling about - gee I hate those pictures - is a Jail Scene. And what did I trade for it - absolutely nothing. It was a gift giving to me by the Peachident, Mike, Kristin the first Peach and Tammy. Thank you so much - I just do not know what to say. It will be cherished.

I had so much fun and did some great trading.

I go to see Dom and meet Amber and her Mom, along with so many others from the boards.

It was just a small piece of September - this is going to be wild.

I can not wait.

It was fun seeing Pin Pals from all over again. Did some trading then headed back to the Contemp around 10:00. Amber I guess you didn't stay long as I totally missed you. It was great seeing Darlene again and Ed, Donna, Kathie and Larry. Also got to meet the model for my Evil Shark Pin!! LE 1500 for a rack pin?!?! I don't think so!!!!!!!!
