Allowing BW Inn and Yacht Club to be rented on DVC points.

I know it's crazy but I would love to see it happen, at least for a couple years.

Doesn't have to be the whole resort, just something to take the upcoming pressure off reservations.

Heck add CR, POLY and GF-at least some regular rooms as studios.

Yep, with qualifying points, you can book BWI rooms starting at 43 points/ night and Yacht Club rooms starting at 41 points/night
(When a BWV studio starts a 9 points/night)
Basically, would you rather stay in a hotel room or a 2BR villa.

I thought you couldn't use points to book a hotel if it had a DVC attached.

So I thought you could book Yacht Club but not Beach Club or BoardWalk.

Am I completely wrong about that? Or was this an old rule that changed?

That was an old rule that changed a while ago.

Also, any trade to use the cash hotels still require DVC to trade a DVC villa as the exchange. It doesn't really do anything unless the DPEP side decides to give away rooms. Since they are hurting themselves, I do not see any reason for them to just let us trade one way and not the other.

Yes actually I did know we could use these hotels at inflated points. Should have qualified at a reasonable point allotment.

Yea good points. I guess if actual hotel rooms are indeed all full why would they.

Maybe if they are sitting empty at 60 days out, they could consider something, like 1/2 points exchange.

Because the rule in place says that if a hotel has a timeshare as certain percentage has to be cash room and the rest timeshare rooms. So disney has rules it has to follow to keep their timeshare status.
