Are they still allowing people to take a 12 oz bottle of hand sanitizer on Delta flights? If so do you just pull it out when you go through security with your quart bag?

From Tsa.gov website
TSA is allowing one liquid hand sanitizer container up to 12 ounces per passenger in carry-on bags until further notice. These containers will need to be screened separately, which will add some time to the checkpoint screening experience.

While I could understand when hand sanitizer was in short supply, it certainly is not now.

There still should be an increased uptick in cleanliness and hand sanitizing seeing as we’re still in a pandemic.

IMHO, to minimize any potential issues or delays at TSA, I would recommend either placing the sanitizer inside your checked bag or not taking it at all if you don't have a checked bag.. There are public hand sanitizing stations that dispense sanitizer throughout most major airports, in addition, on-board most airlines they will provide you with a complimentary sanitizing wipe packet and of course the on-board restrooms are always available for hand washing..

We are going to Disney and they do have hand sanitizer around the parks. I have been told it’s a cheap sanitizer that becomes sticky on your hands when it drys.

I take a whole additional quart ziplock of small hand sanitizer bottles. They’ve never blinked an eye. We have four people traveling, they’re not counting number of quart bags to number of travelers. I’ve seen the 12 oz rule. I don’t think you’ll be questioned at all.

Maybe don't stress about it;
https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-021-00251-4Also note: We went to WDW in Aug 2020 and the hand sanitizer dispensers were everywhere and people lined up to use them at every turn. Our trip in August 2021? Not so much. There weren't nearly as many dispensers, many were empty, and almost no one used them. Just pack a smaller bottle in your carry-on if you really must have it.

Follow real rules. TSA has enough rules. They don't need our help adding more. Worse case scenario the rules change and you dump your hand sanitizer.

Well I could discuss the likelihood of COVID transmission via surface contact, but, no I won't go there.
Is this a hot-button issue? If so, I will delete - I don't mean to throw rocks at a hornets' nest. Source in the article is the CDC though...

I don't think PP was responding to your link, but to the OP. Very few people click on links now that the preview feature is not working.

I plan on bringing several small bottles in the quart bag. Hand sanitizer for disney is not new for me . Before covid I hardly used it at home, but every since we got a bug at disney about 8 years ago, I've carried bottles to disney.

Aside from that, we took a trip in April and coming off merry go round, people were clogging the exit trying to get hand sanitizer. I just squeezed thru the crowd and used my own.

That would be great! We like to take the small bath and body ones that go in a case and hang from our bag or purse.

I took a regular size bottle of Purel on the plane in September. I forgot to pull it out of the bag at Security so my bag was pulled to check, but as soon as the agent saw it was Purel, back in the bag it went and off I went with it. Was not an issue at all.

Good!

I had the same thing happen to me in April, I forgot it was in there. First I got yelled at for having a bottle of water in my bag. But then she pulled it out. I had a bottle of a different brand but it was a brand name not just something like happy hands or germs no more. The TSA had me open it, she tested it for something , put it back and that was it.

I’ve brought a large size bottle along for ride since 9/20. Handy to refill the small ones that we attach to bags, pant loops etc

I keep it in a zip bag in outside pocket of book bag. The process is easy enough. remove it from your bag, place in the dish & alert TSA to it

they will match it up with you on other side
& take it over to their machine to check it. You just follow the agent to that area

Whole process normally has taken just a couple of extra minutes. well, except for trip a month ago

A group of three, 20-somethings traveling together, just ahead of me in line, each had bottles of water, oversized hair products, sun screen spray, perfume bottles, etc:confused3 packed inside their zipped carryons. This was in precheck line BTW

They found it all quite amusing. One of them pulled out her camera to film her companion who was starting to walk around the plexiglass, attempting to grab something, before being sternly warned to step back.:clown::rolleyes2

I had visions of missing our flight. So happy to finally board our flight home and that they weren’t on it
