Ok, I tried search but I'm probably not searching for the right words. I am wondering if you can just use the child TS credits without having to use an adult TS credit at the same time? In theory I can't see why not, but experience might be different.

So for those that need a scenario, 2 A 2 C go to a character buffet. We want to use 2 Child TS credits from the Dining plan but pay OOP for the 2 adults. Has this been allowed?

thanks that's what i thought but i didn't know if TS would run a check with just 2 kids on it.

You can..but i would pay oop for a cheaper ts meal..character buffets are the most expensive.

Not for breakfast for adults.

that's actually what we are going to do. the breakfast for adults is cheaper than dinner for adults (for the ADR's we have) but the dinner for kids is cheaper than the breakfast for kids.

so the original plan was to pay OOP for the character breakfast until we saw how much the kids prices were compared to the "kids meal" at dinner.

thanks, everyone, for the feedback!

I was actually thinking of doing the same at CRT for breakfast. Adults are $44 and it is 2TS credits. Could pay OOP and do a signature later in the week.

You can always use credits for fewer meals than guests listed on your reservation at any one time, you just can't use them for more. Splitting up the party as part credits and part OOP is not only allowed, it's common advice here at the DIS for just this sort of situation.

right, I just didn't know if the Disney TS restaurants had any weird policy about only using child's credits without using an adult credit.

in theory there isn't anything stated you can't, however, with the "real world" restaurants that have specially reduced priced kids meals there always has to be an adult entree to get the reduced price (so you could go with your kids and buy a 1.99 reduced price kids meals and order nothing for yourself, w/o the adult on the check they wouldn't give you the reduced pricing you would get regular pricing.)

since the DDP is supposed to be a "reduced cost" option wasn't sure if there were any/all TS restaurants with a weird "unwritten" policy where this would be a problem. i don't need restaurant drama on vaca :thumbsup2

thanks for the confirmations that it actually works as written!
