Hello all, this is my first attempt, so let me know if I am "doing it wrong" (like in the movie Mr. Mom ).

I never meant to wait this long, but here I am and it's only 9 days until we leave. This trip will be just me and my Mom and we are so excited to be this close - finally! We leave on the 18th and will be staying at the Hojo until the 22nd. This will be the first time for Mom and I am trying my best to make it as perfect as possible and not be too disappointed about all the things we won't get to do this time.

I will be back shortly with introductions and pictures. Hope you all enjoy reading...

Hello Kaoden39! Glad to have you along.

So, I am having a hard time getting back to this. I'm in school and working full time, and have three kiddos, so... I have finals this week (last one is tomorrow ) and I am working on finishing up my prerequisites for nursing. The plan is to apply in July and if accepted start next January. Anyhow, it's been a bit busy lately.

I have been lurking about on the Dis for a couple of years now, mostly watching stuff my husband has been doing - some of you may know him from the photography board - NostalgicDad. I just love this forum and can always het a lift just by getting on here and reading trip reports. So, when my mom and I decided to take this trip - just the two of us - I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to give it a go with a trip report.


I am going to attempt to post a couple of pictures, but I don't have the 10 required posts yet. I will certainly do that as soon as possible though!

We are pretty good on the planning to this point. I think I will call and make a couple of reservations for Blue Bayou and Big Thunder Ranch. Any ideas or suggestions for ways to make this trip extra special for my sweet mother will be greatly appreciated!

How fun to have the trip with your Mom. I really want to try the Big Thunder Bbq too.

Just wanted to chime in and say I think it's great that you and your mom are taking on Disneyland together. How fun! We just had our first meal at Big Thunder Ranch a couple weeks ago and were not disappointed. It was so good.

Thanks deej - the finals were alright, not my best performance but I ended up with an A in both classes, so who's complaining?!?

I'm really excited to get to be the one to show Disney to my Mom for her first trip. I'm worried I'll forget something big and pretty disappointed that the Electrical Light Parade isn't even there, but it is still DL

We will be trying out the Big Thunder Ranch - everyone has said good things about it.

Oh I am so excited for you. Who says your pictures won't be nearly as good? I am a firm believer that the love that goes into taking the picture is what makes it good.

Oh to say the least we are enjoying it. DH was up and on the race course today as it came through our area today. He would follow it if he could.

How special to have this time with your mom!!! My parents came with us last year and my mom and I got to make some magical memories...of course I did have to share her with my dad and my 5 children! Looking forward to all your news!
