on overstock that came with non-removable covers, but I need to get removable, washable covers because kids --- well --- they get sick in the middle of the night, etc....:rolleyes1.

Do you use regular mattress protectors or do they squish the foam?

Also, why do they say NOT to rotate the foam mattresses?

Thanks!

i have a foam mattress i got from Overstock as well..i did order a mattress cover for it from overstock - not sure which one i'm sure any waterproof one will do....

Not sure where you live but you can buy a waterproof mattress from Sleepy's or Bob's if there is a Bob's furniture store near you. I would go to any mattress store and ask if they have them, I imagine they would be expensive but definately worth it.
I did see some waterproof covers at Kohls. I bought one of the pillow covers for my grandson and it was very noisy when he put his head down and moved around, not the soft fabric type, very plastic.
I bought my mattress from Sleepy's and got the mattress cover and pillow covers included. I would hate to think what would happen to the mattress if urine or vomit got onto it, imagine a sponge that you can't squeeze out...
I was told to turn my mattress about every 6 months, foot becomes head, then switch back, but not to flip it. The foam is a different density on the bottom and my mattress has a non slip type coating on the bottom that wouldn't be comfortable to sleep on even with the cover. Plus, my mattress is VERY heavy, I have a hard time turning it, I can't imagine trying to flip it. It is at least 2 times as heavy as my old pillow top mattress was.

We have the tempurpedic and a regular mattress pad messes with the foam's ability to do whatever it is that it does. We put our regular pad on and at first it seemed fine, but during the night the mattress got so uncomfortable.

What we have now is super-thin, but is also waterproof. I'll see if I can tell you what kind it is.

Thanks DisneyCowgirl, any specific suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I'd also like to know as we just purchased a Tempurpedic and I am looking for a mattress pad for it as well. I have read the ones they sell to go with it end up making the bed not as comfortable so looking for an alternative.

This is what we have. It is very thin and makes no noise and does not interfere with the mattress's comfort. The thicker pads you normally get don't let your body heat contact the mattress properly and makes it terribly uncomfortable.

Some of the reviews say you have to use 2 of them to really get it waterproof. We've had juice spilled on ours with no problem, but never experienced something like a bedwetter where it might sit for a while.

Thanks DisneyCowgirl.

Okay ... I was posting it was cheaper on Overstock but just realized it was the Basic version not the Premium.

So best price is Amazon that I can find.
