My sister has just been diagonised(sp) with these food allergies(she has many enviromental allergies too-was just thinking should I request a special cleaning at BWV) but these have just been discovered. I would like her to be as comfortable as possible. These are the restaurants we currently have ADR's at. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appericated.

1900 Park Fare
HDDR
LTT
Cape May Cafe(dinner)
Coral reef

CS's planned were
CHH
Pizzafari
Sunshine Seasons
MGM-Open
and probably Broadwalk area CS.

These are my sisters allergies:
Dogs
House Dust
Dust Mites
Ragweed
Trees
Grass
Weeds
Cat Virius(not cats)
Sugars
Yeast

Thank You-\Terri

Call ahead to the sit down restaurants and ask what they can do to accomodate her needs. Most chefs at nice restaurants are willing- often even eager- to stretch themselves and create a dish that fits the special needs of a diner.

Our son has a major gut/yeast issue, so we're dealing with the same sort of thing. He is also gluten & casein free as part of that deal. Call the restaurants, they'll help you out.

I can tell you, and let me point out that this was just the case with ME, not saying it would be true with anyone else... I grew up in the Midwest and had horrible hayfever, allergies, basically anything green and growing, and anything with hair or fur  . Right after college I moved to Florida, and my allergies improved greatly. It's just different plants, I guess, different grasses. You're not going to know until you get there, and I don't know where you live now so it might not be any different. Just my personal experience.

Have you read the disABILITIES FAQs yet? There is a lot of information there, as well as useful links. For diet you would be most interested in Page #3. The FAQs are near the top of the threads listing, or follow the link in my signature.

I totally understand what you are saying-DH has horrible allergies too, but where we live now he's like night and day. My sister gets all the shots and everything since she will not move. Just this week they found out about the yeast and sugar allergy(she's 40yo)...so maybe something in her system changed or something-I don't understand it fully. I do know she has been having several medical problems-so perhaps this is how they found it.

Thanks -I am going to email Brenda and have her allergies added to our ADR's-luckily we are on a short trip.

Yes I have been reading it for several different issues:

Not only my sister's allergies(and all the information makes my mind stagger) but also my Dad's Scooter(I think I am going to try the new site at Broadwalk-which I found on the FAQ) and my sister with Down's need for a GAC and probably a wheelchair(again found out about those on the FAQ). I am just getting over whelmed...my own son has several other medical issues(a heart defect, reflux and his own allergies-no foods). But all is manageable-compared to other's situations.

I love vacationing at WDW since everything is there for you...I truly appericate all the help at the first aid stations, since son frequently might have a minor problem that needs addressing and I would hate to stop the entire day to go back to the room each time.
