DS has multiple food allergies. I have been in contract with Brenda and she has been able to get me a list of some of the ingredients for counter service food. However, at some CS locations my DS is allergic to all of the kids meals but he would be able to eat an adult CS meal. We are on the DDP. Does anyone know if I will have a problem getting him an adult CS meal instead of a kids meal with his CS credit?

Thanks!

I would imagine in any such situation you would have to talk to one of the managers at the CS location to get an override, allowing use of a child credit. Possibly the meal could be customized in size also.

I've heard from others that they had to use an adult CS credit for their child who couldn't use the child's credit due to a food restriction. You might ask if you could have him charged for the DDP as an adult or see if an exception can be made but as far as I know they are not making exceptions on the DDP. Even though it doesn't seem fair, I can understand the reasoning. I think your best bet though would to be to ask if his meals can be made without the ingredients he's allergic to. My son is in kidney failure and all his CS meals had to be prepared differently without ingredients he can't tolerate but we weren't charged extra for the special preparation. ---Kathy

The CS credits are not separated by adult and child, you are suppose to use the Child menu if there is one but many people simply go up and order what they want. And in your case there is a good reason to do so.

We were allowed to get DD items from the adult menu when the children's selections did not have anything she was able to eat in September.

Becka - sorry to go a bit off-topic but what is this list and is it available online somewhere? We are looking into starting an elimination diet for DS5 to narrow down some possibly trigger foods. A list like this could be really helpful!

Sorry I didn't see this earlier but Brenda was able to e-mail me some attachments that had the ingredients for some of the more common counter service foods. E-mail her and I am sure she can send you the same list.

Adult and child credits are now separated on the dining plan but of course it doesn't matter who uses the child credits and who uses the adult credits w/in a family. I would hope they'd work with you to allow your son to use a child's credit for something he can eat vs. being confined to only getting a "child's meal" at a CS location.---Kathy
