Hi there everyone! Well we are back from 4 days and 3 nights in our favorite place ever, WDW. We had the merriest most magical time celebrating Mike's birthday. We were on the regular DDP this time, and paid for a couple of meals out of pocket.

Here's the cast:

Moi, Allegra 28- Not picky at all, love food and love to eat! Filet, cheeses, seafood, salad, veggies, everything! I don't like too many mushrooms on things, shaved coconut, or licorice.

DH, Mike, turned 31 on day one of our trip!- Very adventurous eater, I'm so proud of him! He will try most anything but loves steak, potatoes, pasta, burgers and chicken fingers. He doesn't like chocolate overload or chewy things.

I have pics of some things, but not everything. Sorry hardcore food porn lovers! But I will give you my insight into the character meals, table service, and counter service meals we encountered along the way.

First up, Earl of Sandwich lunch

We got to DTD around 1:00 pm and grabbed a table outside. Mike held down the table while I went inside to get on line. The line was really long, but moved fast. We were meeting up with our Dis-buds iheartpluto (Joanne) and her Prince Eric who walked in just as I got on line!

DH and I shared the Holiday Sandwich since we were going to be eating dinner at 5:00 pm. It was very yummy! It was very filling, and I barely finished my half. We also shared a dessert, which was the brownie cookie. It looks like a giant oreo except it's made of brownie. It was pretty yummy! I didn't eat a lot of the filling because it was so sweet. I also paid for a side of macaroni salad which was blah. Totally unflavored and bland. Not good at all!

Overall a pretty decent meal for a counter service. We used one credit here. We like the Earl and would definitely come back! :thumbsup2

Next up is dinner. We had Cinderella's Royal Table ressies for 5:30 pm, but we got there at 5 pm and checked in. We were brought in for pics with Cinderella and were first in line. She was very gracious and said she recognized us, which was funny. We enjoyed the photo op, and she also signed our autograph books. Yes, we're that cheesy :thumbsup2

We were seated at am amazing table for two right by the back windows. So exciting! Now, the menu has recently changed. I will say that I was disappointed to hear that there wouldn't be any prime rib, or blue cheese salad...Or chocolate buckle! The horror! The new menu truly does leave room for improvement, in my opinion.

DH ordered the cheese sampler and I ordered the rock shrimp cocktail. These were the only pics we got of this meal, because the princesses started coming out and it was hard to get pics of the food after that.

I thought DH's cheese platter was yummy. He liked the Brie and the Cheddar the best, and liked the honeycomb with them. He didn't like the herbed goat cheese at all. I ate it and thought it was yummy. The Brie was definitely my favorite of the cheeses.

My shrimp cocktail was just ok. It really gave off the vibe of pre-plated food that's been sitting there waiting to be ordered. The shrimp were ok for what they were, but there were only about 5 of them. The rest of the dish was a corn relish that was not very good. Overall I did not think this was a great appetizer.

For entrees DH ordered the Duck Confit, and I ordered the Beef Tenderloin rare. We both though the entrees could have been a lot better. DH's duck was very dry and hard to chew. We can't say much about the side dish because it was a mushroom bread pudding and DH wouldn't touch it! I didn't try it either for matter lol.

My beef tenderloin was just ok. It wasn't flavored very well and was very chewy. The mashed potatoes it came with were very dry and not flavored very well. The tomato hollandaise it came with was totally flavorless gel. Very strange. The asparagus were very good though!

For dessert I had the chocolate mousse. It was very dense and thick. I thought it was ok, and ate most of it. DH got Creme Caramel which is just like flan. He didn't care for it, but I though it was very authentic and good.

We had a good server, Denise, who checked up on us and kept refilling our drinks. It was overall a fun and nice experience. We got to meet princesses and take pictures, and the atmosphere was nice being there by the window in the castle. We were able to watch them setting up the fireworks, it was cool! I don't think we'll be back anytime soon, but we would probably eat there again if someone we were with wanted to experience it.

Hiiii!! YES! It's my way of re-living the magic. I like to get my dining reviews out of the way so I can start an in depth Trip Report!

You guys are so cute! I was wondering about dinner at the Castle...we have not done it yet but it doesnt sound that yummy, except for the cheese :thumbsup2

I'm in! I always enjoy your reviews:goodvibes

Great reviews so far! I love CRT. Not for the food...but for the ambiance! It's so fun just to be in the castle.

Joining in.
We had CRT before we go to the MVMCP party but when I looked at the new menu...there was nothing my son would like so we had to cancel. After reading your CRT review, I'm sort of glad...the only thing my husband would like is the cheese platter. I realized my son wants to eat in the castle but we have done it already and we will do again when they changed themenu again.

So all of the many, many trips we've taken to WDW and I just can't decide if we should flip the coinage for CRT.....Sounds like a no? (I have 2 sons and DH could care less.)

Lovin' the report! I'm in for the long haul.

HEEEEEY!!!!

How you doing girl?! :)

I'm here to read about your fantastic trip!!
