Anyone here fly with Allegiant out of Niagara Falls and want to share their experience? Interested in info about everything from purchase to arrival home and how their prices compared with all those fees and whether you would do it again? Prices for SW, Airtran and JB are crazy for Oct right now. Waiting for Allegiant to open their schedule up and see what their prices are like. We live in Niagara Falls and would love to drive 10 minutes across the border to fly, but not sure about their customer service and how it would be flying into Sanford instead of MCO. We are staying offsite and need to rent a car anyways so no big deal there.
Would appreciate any info!:thumbsup2

I will be doing this exact route next Sat, March 10th. on Allegiant. It shows online right now that our flight has sold out, so here's to hoping all goes well! I booked a car rental with Avis back in December when I booked my flights, a mid size for $303. but yesterday happened to be on Alamo checking prices again, and got it down to $243 for 13 days for midsize. I am very happy with that. Book your flights when you are happy with the price. We paid $69 each way, my brother booked his flight from Saginaw, Mi, for the way down, for $59, and the flight home was then $89 so decided to wait and see if it went down, and he got euchered as it went up to $140.00 and lost out.
I will be sure to let you know how we make out flying them on the 10th and back on the 23rd. I will try to get on the computer when there and let you know how the flight down was.

I few with Allegiant out of Youngstown, OH last March to St. Pete's Clearwater airport before they started flying out of Niagara Falls. The price was right since we paid $496 for 4 tickets inc taxes so it was a no brainer for me. Both airports were so quick and easy to get through and flights were actually early arriving on both ends of the trip. We took carryon luggage and got 4 seats together when we arrived at the airport so no extra fees. Sunwing from Pearson wanted $2800 inc taxes to fly to St. Pete's Clearwater. I would defintely fly them again.

They are supposed to open their schedule late March so if you can update when you get home it should be good. Also, did you pay for your seat assignments? Thanks for helping!

So, from what I read you didn't pay for seat assignments? I was wondering how that would work for a family trying to sit together. Also, I might drive over and book the flights at their airport desk because it would save me about $80 in fees to do that. We will be checking bags so we'll be paying those fees...don't like it, but it's looking like it will be cheaper than ANY other airline even with those fees.

Thanks for the input guys!

I did pay for seat assignments, but I always do! I didn't pay for priority boarding though, just because I thought it was a small airport so no need for priority boarding. I like to have my seat assignments. I will for sure let you know after we fly on the 10th!

Just be aware that you can purchase tickets at the airport counter for up to 1 hour after the scheduled departure time. We boarded in Group A I think it was so we had no problem getting seats together. Our kids are teenagers so it didn't really matter to us if we did have to split up.

They don't make it easy on you to save that money do they? I get it though, if they only have one flight per day, they certainly aren't going to staff the desk all day for no reason.
So, one more question...how did you get group A boarding? I'm so used to SW's check in and boarding procedures, this is all new to me. Thanks again for the info!

The Group you board with is really dictated by the time you check in at the counter. The earlier you check in the sooner you will be allowed to board and get seats together.

So is it always cheaper to get the ticket at the airport counter? Can someone confirm that?

We will be using Allegiant on April 12. My friend used them in January and said it was fantastic.

I'm curious about this too. How does this work. So you don't book your ticket online and you just show up on the day your flyng out? I'm easily confused.

I read the whole fee listing on their website to find this out...but if you buy your tickets on line there is a fee, and if you buy them on the phone there is an additional fee on top of that. But, if you go to their counter at the airport and buy them there, you don't pay a fee. But, as a PP mentioned the counter isn't open all the time. Only when they have a flight scheduled that day and only for an hour. So, when I am ready to buy my tickets, I will be looking at their schedule out of Niagara Falls and driving over there to buy my tickets when they are manning the counter. I hope this makes sense? I plan to use the savings from that fee towards the fee to select a seat. Fees, fees and more fees!!!

Hi there OP, I just wanted to let you know we arrived tonight on our Allegiant flight from Niagara Falls NY to Sanford. It was wonderful. Both smaller aiports, so security was fast and easy, great all the way around! We arrived about 1/2 hour early. Can't complain at all!
