How many of you that flew allegiant, purchased the seating where you could pick where you sat? I did not and figured that I would imagine that there would be seats here and there that have two together or 3 together...
Am I making a mistake in assuming this? I thought that it would be similar to southwest....

I bet the other way, so I went ahead and paid the extra fees so my DD11 and I would be together for sure. We leave on July 14, so I won't know how things work out until then.

I'm interested in how it worked for others though.

We've flown Allegiant out of Des Moines, IA direct to Orlando about 4 times in the last year, since they opened this route. We've never "reserved" our seats (here in DSM it's a $10/pp charge for that reserve) and they automatically put us together when we check in at the gate and they have to assign our seats. That said, my observations are that the non-reserved seats are the back of the plan to towards the middle. From DSM they are smaller jets and a bit noisier in the back. While we typically travel at non-peak times, several flights have been full and we've still been placed together - check in early for the best chance at sitting together!!

thank you so much! We'll check in early:)

We flew on Allegiant and I did select in advance because I didn't want to take a chance and be seperated from my kids ( good thing I did because we had a full flight!)and also because it's terribly noisy from the engines in the back seats!

We just flew Allegient June 22 and back on July 2 without reserving seats. We were seated in 2 rows, 2 each in the middle of the plane. No problem. :woohoo:

I flew Allegiant Air from Sioux Falls, SD June 14th returning June 21st with my 2 kids. I opted not to buy the reserved seats even though my kids had never flown before (they are 7 & 10). I was able to sit with them both ways without any problems (except for the argument about who was going to sit by the window first!!)

I did get to the airport 2 hours before each flight and think that may have helped. For both flights, the person working the counter asked if I had a seating preference. Of course my only preference was to sit with the kids!

We had a great experience with Allegiant. We landed early both times. I would remember that they do not serve the typical drink and snacks that other airlines offer. We brought on gatorade drinks for the kids and some crackers.

Hope you have a great trip!!
