As promised I am posting my trip report concerning this new airline flying out of Portsmouth, NH into Orlando/Sanford airport. I have nothing but good things to say about Allegiant Air. The Portsmouth airport is very small and laid out a little strange. But that really isn't a problem since they're the only airline there. We didn't pay the extra $10 for assigned seats for the four of us and the person at check-in sat is in two rows with 6 seats and didn't seat anyone else in those seats. We took off about 30 mins. late but landed only 5 mins late. I think we were the last flight in because the place was pretty empty. We took a towncar to the hotel which was about a one hour ride.

On the return flight we again had six seats for the four of us. The only bad thing when we got back was that it was snowing. Blek!!! :sad1:

In general Allegiant Air was very nice to fly. Direct flights and you don't have to be at the airport 2 hours early. We got to both airports 1 hour early and that was plenty of time to still hit the snackbad in Orlando. Orlando/Sanford is about the same size as Portland,ME, with not as much traffic. The only bad part for me was, that my name is on the no fly list which ment I got searched on the way down. :rotfl2: I got it taken care of on the way back.

I will definetly fly Allegiant Air again and they have already sent me an email about 2 for 1 flights.

Thanks for remembering to post! I was looking forward to hearing what you thought about Allegiant Air. I always loved flying out of Pease when Pan Am was still in existence. So much easier and quicker to get in and out of Pease and Sanford. Hope you had lots of fun on your trip!

We leave a week from tomorrow on Allegiant from Portsmouth. We don't fly out until 6:45pm and get to Sandford for 9:45. But we got them at the promotional $49/each way rate and for a family of 5 ... gosh ... it was just over $600 for all of us (with the additional fees).

Now to hear that the flight was great ... it's wonderful! The kids are disappointed we won't have Jet Blue's Direct TV ... but at that time of night ... they can read a book and relax!

Thanks!
Martha

Thanks for posting. I'm leaning heavily towards them for August and just waiting a bit to see what happens now that JetBlue is flying from PWM.

Cheers!

I too had a good experience flying Allegiant out of Worcester. Only problem is the very early am return time (7:40 am). I'd love an afternoon return that gave us a little more time in FL. We too got our seats assigned at the airport. They also announced a peanut allergy on the way down so we couldn't eat our peanut crackers, but did have some cookies, and our own soda pop, so it wasn't awful.
