Allegiant air from Niagara Falls, NY is now flying into Sanford!

They were only flying into Tampa Bay and the prices were high! I was checking prices this morning for my upcoming March Break trip and when I went to check, Sanford/Orlando popped up as an option to fly into! I paid $69 flying down on Sat, March 10th, and $69 flying back on Fri. March 23rd. With seat fees, both ways, and baggage fees both ways it came to just over $900 total. Was very happy with that price! Hope this helps someone else!

Can anyone tell me how far Sanford will be to Orlando, and what will the likes/dislikes be? Any input on renting vehicles from Sanford, and how early will I need to be at the airport? We fly out from Niagara Falls at 5:55 and fly at 9:00 am coming in (not ideal) but we have a 6 hour drive after landing so it works well for that! Is the standard 2 to 3 hours apply at these airports being they are so small?

We flew into Sanford last year. It's about a 60 minute drive from the airport to the time you're at your WDW resort. Given how small and efficient the airport is, the extra driving time more than offset the time it would take to navigate MCO and then get to the resorts. The only thing you give up flying to Sanford is DME plus you pretty much have to rent a car (which was a nice treat as well).

Thanks so much ccudmore, I appreciate it!! We rent a car anyhow, as we are going to Tampa to watch the leafs play and to the beach a few times!
I am so stoked. Even though the flights were $69 with baggage fees, taxes, fees, and seat selection I paid about $880 for the 4 of us! Mystic Dunes, I only paid $590 for 13 nights. So right now I am sitting at only $1470, so if I get rooked on a car rental a little, not a big concern! We also have to get a hotel the first night because we are not booked in to the resort til the day after! Anyone have any ideas on a hotel room for 1 night that is reasonable eithier along the route from Sanford? Or right in Orlando?

For those travelling with children under 2 on Jetblue and Southwest infants fly free, on allegiant they have to buy a seat. This killed the deal for us but if that doesn't apply to you, and you are very light packers you could save some money. For us flying southwest or jet blue to MCO is better but you do have to watch the prices. a couple weeks ago they went down to $84 each way for one day, I saw it but didn't book and the next day they were back up to $124

We flew Allegiant last March break from Youngstown, OH to St. Petersburgh Clearwater and got seats for like $44 one way. For 4 tickets we paid a grand total of $496. We took carryon luggage and got seats at the airport so no extra fees. Now that they fly out of Niagara Falls that's another great option. From Pearson during March break you can expect to pay about $2500 or more for 4 tickets. I would definitely fly with them again!

Ya I did like Allegiant and would fly them again in a hearbeat. Fights actually arrived a bit early on both trips and Youngstown airport was so small and easy since airforce base and Allegiant only commercial airline using airport with few flights a week.
