Allegiant Air will begin flying out of Niagara Falls, NY airport commencing Dec 15th to St. Petersburgh/Clearwater airport. I actually flew from Youngstown, OH - St. Petersburgh Clearwater airport during March Break this year. I paid like $496 incl takes for 4 tickets. We took carry on luggage and got 4 seats together at the airport with no problem to avoid extra fees. I see some return flights incl taxes for $163.87 depending when you travel. This is also a good option when travelling to Orlando since just over a 1hr drive from Clearwater to Orlando. With time hopefully they will increase flight destinations. Good to see more competition in addition to Spirit and Directair from Niagara Falls.

I see that fares have dropped to $48 one way for some dates in Dec & Jan or $133 rt inc taxes.

Thanks for posting this info! I have never heard about Allegiant Air. Have you ever flown with them before? The price is $62 each way, and I'm wondering if we should try it. Do you know how parking works at the Niagara Falls airport (for parking)? It's all new to me! We usually fly out of Buffalo. Thanks for any info!

If I'm reading the webpage correctly, could a total round trip price for 2 people be $318 (if the price is $62 each leg)? If so, this may be our best bet!

There are also fares for $48 but it depends when you are travelling. Total with taxes for 2 people @ $62 one way is $328. As I mentioned above we flew last March break with Allegiant out of Youngstown, Ohio and they were great. The trick is to take carry on luggage and select your seats at the airport so you don't get dinged with extra fees. I would fly them again. We paid $496 for 4 tickets. Try Pearson during March Break and you pay big time!

Lots of parking spaces. $5 per day (very reasonable).
Allegiant have been around for quite a while and they seem to have a pretty good reputation. They do use older planes, but thats to be expected.
Their fleet is expanding and they are adding more routes.Flight Prices are excellent. They are partly owned by Ryanair (and Irish airline that is the king of cut price travel in the UK and Europe)

Thanks so much for the great info! I hope you don't mind another quick question! How early do you need to get to the airport? We usually do 1.5hrs at Buffalo. We likely won't stay in a hotel that night however, and will drive directly from Ontario. Just wondering if this is feasible. TIA :goodvibes

I haven't flown out of Niagara Falls airport but there are only a few flights a day between Allegiant, Spirit and Directair so I would say 1 - 1.5hr should be plenty of time. When we flew out of Youngstown I think we were checked in and through security in about 20 mins since Allegiant is the only commercial airline that flys out of the airport which is a airforce base.
