Unfortunately, I have to work this morning, the morning SWA releases it's fares for March Break. I will be left with sloppy seconds, very expensive ones I'm sure, by the time I get back to my computer this evening around 6:30:headache:
I could still get a flight out of Detroit last night on the 7th for $110 one way, but
would rather go out of Buffalo on the Sat. or Sun.........Hopefully if there's nothing for Buffalo when I get back, I'll still be able to get the Detroit flight.
It would mean I would have to extend my stay by 2 nights, we all know how terrible that would be:rolleyes1
On the up side, we leave tomorrow for our first trip home to BWV:yay:

Doesn't look like it's been released just yet BUT I sure am glad I already purchased my flights to San Juan for March break b/c the prices have just been going steadly up!

I had a flight to FLL booked for Feb 23 returning Mar 1. Two tickets were $517.60 taxes in. This week we decided to extend our vacation by two weeks and moved our flight up to mid-Feb. Now we find ourselves with a credit of $72.40!!! Longer vacation - cheaper flights. Gotta love it. :thumbsup2

I was able to get $89US one way from Manchester, NH to MCO. :thumbsup2
Now I'll have to wait patiently for the return flight dates to open! :rolleyes1
And of course, I'm still hoping a DING will come out! :confused3

This is the first time we're driving to the US to get a flight, so really just about ANYTHING is better than the prices we've paid for previous trips flying out of Halifax.

Sure glad I booked out of Detroit in October with Spirit for $80.00 each way during March Break because I was debating to wait for SW fares out of Buffalo today and they are YIKES!

935 USD PP return BUF/MCO during March Break. 855 CND.
No extra charge for bags & I can modify my flights with out Spirits $60 pp penalty.

Southern Ontario DISers:

If Buffalo gets high check Pittsburgh SW. It's only 5 hours, 4.5 for speeders.....

And better than driving if you want to fly. I got someone a cheap, last minute direct flight (in Jan/Feb for the break) last year when Buffalo had gone way up already. It seems to stay low.

Have fun everyone,

Lisa

I like how you think. Lots of folks won't drive 5 hours to save $$$$$.

Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Detroit, Akron, Flint & Rochester are options that GTA residents often overlook.

FYI SW does not fly to all of the airports but there are discount arilines at all of the above US airports.

OK got home and on-line about 7pm.
I booked SWA from Detroit to Orlando return for 4 ,March 8-15 N/S for $1331.20 US.
That's double what I am paying for our flight tomorrow, but $720 cheaper than I could fly the same dates out of Buffalo.
I guess the 2 hours extra each way is worth the savings.
Now, I just have to pray for no big snow storms.

I'm just relevied I got something not too outrageously priced.

Well, if I had booked AirTran long ago, I would have saved some money, but that is all in the past now.

Booked our March break trip, March 9th to 16th, via SWA for US$1770 for 4 people. I could have gotten the trip for $1600, but chose a more expensive flight back because the only two flights for that cheaper flight were either 6:30am (we'd have to leave Disney at 3am!!!) or 8:55pm. I bit the bullet and paid the extra $170 to leave mid afternoon.

A deal? I guess it's okay considering the YYZ cost. Itrave2000.com's prices started at Cdn$3600. Sunwing was Cdn$4000!

We booked March 8-15 from Buffalo to Orlando from $446 to $466 on line.( we needed 6 seats and the fares kept going Up!) Much more expensive than we are used to paying on SW! ( but still much less than flying out of Toronto)

Wow reading this are prices ever up... what happened to less then $200 pp return we paid this year????
