All You Ignorami - Third Time's a Charm....all in favor, say "Aye!"

Congrats on your post count Snap!

For those of you not on FB and those of you who are, but don't stalk me, good news: PK is about to start her senior year of high school and has already been accepted into a state college with a scholarship! :dance3::cheer2:pixiedust: We went to Richard Stockton College for an instant decision day and she was accepted! They are also leaving the amount of the scholarship open so if she brings up her score on the SAT in October, they will increase her scholarship! :cheer2::cool1::dance3:

She still wants to look at Coastal Carolina in SC but is very happy and excited about Stockton. It's so nice to know the pressure is off and she'll be happy there, if that's where she decides to go. I'm hoping she does because it's much less expensive and they have a phenomenal marine science program. She'll be about 2 hours away from home, which for me is far enough without having to worry about paying for airfare for her to come home.

Hope everyone is doing well and thanks for letting me gush. :thumbsup2

Great to hear this!!!! It seems like she was just starting high school a few months ago; I can't believe how quickly the time has passed.

Thanks Snap and Pakey. :goodvibes

I know. It just seems like yesterday. And while she still has to get through senior year of high school, I know I will blink and it will be over. Homecoming, color guard, winter guard, prom, graduation and then one last summer before she leaves the nest. Oh how much I will miss my daughter, and best friend, but I'm so excited to see her spread her wings and take on the world. So much ahead of her and so great to see her declaring her independence and, as I like to tease her "getting a life". She's had a fantastic summer, done so many new things and really coming into her own. Couldn't be any prouder.

Awwwe -- sounds like everything is falling into place! Sr. year is fun, but you are right. It will fly by. I'm so glad she's been accepted where she can pursue her marine science. Even though we would have loved to have her at Galveston. :)

Thanks Wickey. I'm sure she would have loved Galveston or U of Miami or U of Rhode Island. But out of state is expensive and her grades are good but not enough to get a huge scholarship. I also don't dismiss the idea of doing two years here and transferring. Again, she's insistent that she still wants to see Coastal Carolina as she has a friend who just started there in the marine science department, but we'll see. She seriously needs to weigh the pros and cons. And if she continues her education, that will be an additional expense that she will have to pay out of pocket for. Don't think it's worth spending all the money on undergrad.

Just popping in to say good job at ignoring the fact that it's all about me. (Yes, snapppyd.....it IS all about me. :lmao:)

BTW - This is really really hard for me to say it.

But I think I *might* be nearly ready to come out of the closet.

Yes, I *might* actually have a FB account.....but then again, I *might* not. And it *might* actually be kinda cool to have a few more 'friends' on that kinda mighta maybe FB account.

So....if anyone wants to be my friend, PM me.

And I'll understand if I get ignored.

That's a great thread you started. I lurk on the CB, chat with the "nice" people (who ignore me) but I have also noticed a trend of "It's All About Me" and "My Way" lately.

It can't be all about you, this is the ignoring section...:rolleyes1

Oh, I don't see how anyone could pay out-of-state tuition. In-state is bad enough. :) I'm just glad she's mapping out her future!

No -- it's all about MEeeeee!

True. But I should have ignored that post. :p
