My son lived in an apartment the last two years of college and that was in his Alton Brown phase of cooking. And mine being away at school, we grab a bite to eat when I pick her up and take her back on the weekends and Red Lobster and the $30 lobster linguini is her favorite...![]()
I got a call from him at the grocery store asking me if I knew how expensive whole vanilla beans were? My response, "vanilla extract does the same thing for less". Son, "but Alton Brown says never use vanilla extract" Me "I'm sitting here eating Ramen, buy the vanilla extract"

...one of the things I absolutely LOVE about formal dining on a cruise is that the portions are very small; perfect for being able to have all the courses and try multiple dishes. I honestly don't know why all restaurants don't significantly reduce portion size. If the prices were reasonable, I'm sure it would up the sales of appetizers and desserts by a lot.
