All the way from Japan to enjoy the WONDER of Disney

Your girls are so beautiful you are such a lucky dad we never got over to Tommorowland on our lastest trip so there was no push for us sadly maybe next trip since we plan on spending more time in MK

How fun that you had an encounter with Push, too bad the DD's missed it.

I am glad that you got your ride(s) in on the People Mover since it is your favourite ride. Sounds like you having a much better day than the day before, you are actually getting to do something you want!;)

Can't wait to hear about how the meal goes at the castle.

yes, it's the wedway people mover...
and i loved the old recording too ("hello there, i'm your commuter computer")..
yes it is one of my favorites...i can ride that thing over and over and over and over...
fortunately DH, DD and DS love it as much as i do and are happy to ride it as often as i do..
and since we've been on it sooooooo many times, we also managed to see SM with the lights one (while people were actually riding on it - i don't know why the lights were on that time, while SM was still running)..

we also like the trashcan (i didn't know that was his name)...but we're bad...we always look for the guy controlling him...

by the way, did you ride the left side or the right side of SM? the two different trackes don't have the same ride...going to your left is the better ride (there is even a bit of airtime on the left, but none on the right)...
also, if you like SM in tokyo, then you'll like SM in DL....the SM in tokyo is much more like the ride in DL (i prefer the SM in WDW - but only the left track, not the right)...

ok tokyodisneydad - onwards...i'm getting hungry...time for a princess lunch...

(by the way, DD called yesterday from kobe - she's having a great time!! - next week TDR :woohoo: :woohoo: )...

I know how lucky I am..I just wish the family(especially the girls):sad1: knew how lucky they were. A second marriage and being a stepdad can be so difficult sometimes

Yep this day was almost perfect and Nothing was going to ruin it. Not even THE BOY which I'm :) to say was never mentioned once this day.

By the end of the day we had rode SM 4 times. twice on each side. It's been years and I don't remember but I've ridden SM in DL and last fall in HKDL also. Only Paris to go.:dance3:

I am sooooo jealous about being in the parade! How awesome is that! I hope you have alot of pictures to share. :cool1:

Love the people mover too, though I've never been lucky enough to see SM with the lights on - that would be cool.

Looking forward to more!

did you notice the difference between the two sides? do you have a preference?

i hate DL's SM, but i don't know if they've changed it since the renovation...
i should correct what i wrote before...i've never been on TDL's SM (i don't think it was built yet when i was there - in any case i wouldn't have been able to ride it as i was pregnant at the time)....but people say that Tokyo's SM is like DL's SM....so that's what i'm basing that on..

we didn't go on SM in paris....it was before FP and the line wrapped around the park...when we asked how long it was they said 2.5 hours....:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: ....so we passed...

i haven't been to HKDL.....DD was last year....she said she didn't like the SM there, but i can't remember why....but her friends liked it a lot....they rode it several times, while she shopped (i bet she'd get along well with your womenfolk!! ;) ;)

and if i haven't mentioned it before, your wife is GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i always think that japanese women are beautiful, but your wife is exceptionally beautiful....

Can't wait to read about the parade.

P.S. Your wife looks as young as her daughters. :)

Thanks for all the compliments. A BIG welcome to all the new people. Sorry for the delays and lack of responses:sad1: Lots going on at work.:scared1: So much in fact that DDM wants me to change jobs even though I just got a promotion. I will get back to the report and finish up MK tonight when I get home

I can't wait to hear all about the cruise. I hope you include lots of pictures! I am going on a Disney cruise next December so I can't wait to hear about your experience.

DD just sent an SMS from TDL -- she's standing in a 2 hour line for the Haunted Mansion :scared1:  :scared1:  :scared1:

it's the halloween version, but still.....2 hours??????????????????

i just looked at the time the SMS hit my phone - 3 am my time, which is 10 am tokyo time...
so at 10 am, there was already a 2 hour line at the haunted mansion!!!!
talk about a scary place!!

i didn't mention the messages she sent after that one.....
the inscriptions on the gravestones in the graveyard.....
funny kid....

The 2 hour wait was caused by the fact that it is a National Holiday today in Japan and probably every school kid in Tokyo was there. Tomorrow and Wednesday should quiet down a bit. I should have told you to tell her not to go today.

yes we knew about it because of the hotel rates - autumnal equinox day right?...
i don't think she'll be put off by the lines, but i hope it doesn't turn off her friend to disney...
that can be annoying to have to drag around an anti-disney person with you...

when we're together as a family, we usually have a good time in line getting to know everyone else in line...although that might prove a bit challenging if people around you don't speak english...

on the bright side, i would think that japanese are very good at standing in line.......that is, i would assume they're not pushy....or am i wrong about that?

After a wonderful time in Tomorrowland it was off to the castle for lunch with Cinderella.

We had debated between having lunch here (the girl's vote) or at the Polynesian Luau (mine and Kiyomi's vote). The girl's won out only because they have a dad that spoils them.:confused3 What can I say? Also it's a secret--Don't tell the girls, but mom and I are already planning a trip for our anniversary next year. And guess who ain't going!!:lmao: :lmao: During that trip we will stay at the Polynesian so the Luau is in line for then.:)

Any way I had mixed feelings about this lunch from mixed reviews on the boards here.
We arrive and get in line to take a picture with Cinderella herself. The inside of the castle is beautiful and the mice are really cute. Look up as you wait for your picture. With the picture behind us we go up the staircase to the dining area, again beautiful. The CM hands all three of my princesses Magic Wands and we sit down.
We order and wait for our food. As we do the Fairy Godmother, Snow White, Belle and Sleeping Beauty make the rounds for pictures.
The Magical Moment (no spoilers) was a little magical and the girls did have a good time so that made me :) :) :) BUT.....

In my opinion unless you are going with small kids then the price of this lunch is not worth it. The food was nothing to write home about. I'm glad we did it and nothing was going to ruin my day, but once in a lifetime is enough.

Yep.... That's the day. Japan has atleast one holiday a month and even the Japanese don't know why.

Doesn't she have a couple more days? Like I said it should calm down tomorrow and Wednesday.

Most of the time they are friendly, rarely pushy and sometimes even chatty with their broken English.

I have heard many times that the food does not reflect the price but it is worth it to eat in the castle just once. I am undecided if I will try and book a meal there for the next trip. If I do it will probably be for breakfast.

it's amazing to me that in all our many many many visits to WDW, we've never eaten in the castle.....
and now my kids will have nothing to do with character meals...
i guess we sort of missed the boat on that one....

well maybe one day there will be grandkids to take to WDW.....;)

(yes, she has 4 days total in TDR - so she'll have another TDL day, plus 2 TDS days....i'm waiting to hear what they did today....
the last SMS was a 'good night i LOVE you" sms that came in at 11 PM tokyo time...she's a good kid...sends lots of "i love you" text messages to us....
they're staying on property, so that's good....they don't have to tire out dragging themselves back and forth into the city....
as for talkative japanese - on the phone last week, she said the japanese ALWAYS want to help when they need directions....that most of them time, the person they ask just turns around and takes them wherever it is they need to go....:) )
