I will be traveling to DW the last week of May with my husband, my 33-year-old son and his wife and their one-year-old son, and our 11-year-old son. Would a family suite at ASM suit us better than two rooms? I see that the suite has a large kitchenette which looks good for the baby. But I do see two of the beds are Murphy beds. Are they comfortable? I have stayed in Music before, but never actually slept on the Murphy beds. Any thing else to consider? Opinions?

It’s really going to depend on the sleeping situation. The family suites have one bed in the bedroom and two pull-down beds in the main room. The kitchenette is in the main room. You have one couple in a bed, another couple in a bed, the 11 year old in a bed and a crib or pack-n-play for the toddler. Are you comfortable being on a pull-down bed in the room with your youngest and the possibility of someone coming out to use the kitchenette? Would your older DS be comfortable staying in a room with the wife and little brother?

You’re probably better off getting two separate rooms. That way, everyone has space to spread out and unwind. The All-Stars have the pull-down bed that can be left up as a table, we found that handy when our DD was in a crib since we could corral her at the table in the morning.

We've stayed in ASMu Family Suite and found it to be terrific. The Murphy beds are very comfortable. My adult son (34) used those beds and he was very happy with them. The kitchen is all that a family would need. The two bathrooms....heaven! ...and the cost makes it a good value.

The Family Suites have a really nice setup and the Murphy beds are quite comfortable- so much better and easier than a pullout sofa bed. Whether or not the arrangement works will depend on your specifics. For our family, the kitchenette was a feature we really wanted - apartment size fridge with real freezer and a microwave.

After spending all day with each other, you might appreciate getting away to your own room for the evening. It's why we never book a 2-bedroom when we travel with our adult children.

If you all are close and able to share the space I think it's a great option. Put your son and wife in bedroom with baby in pack n play. They will have their own bathroom and door right there at kitchen if they need to get up. You all and your 11 year old in the living room with the murphy beds. They are VERY comfortable as they are regular beds that just happen to fold away. In the standard rooms they are a regular bed and a murphy bed and you can't tell the difference. You'll have your own bathroom.

While I normally tell people to get their own rooms and if the baby is a fussy one, especially at night I would say look at that. But the new kitchen space in these suites can be a huge plus if toting baby food, supplies etc that might need warming. They could also put the baby to bed while the rest of you visit or hang out in living room.

Thank you so much! We are close. They live next door to us. As a matter of fact. They have dated since high school and are in their early 30s now, so we have all known each other for many years. Luckily the baby is a very easy baby, sleeps regularly, hardly ever fussy. The kitchen is what was really tempting me. It would help a lot with the baby and even the rest of us for breakfast in the room, etc. Am I understanding that the door can be shut between the living room and bedroom so that we can give each other some privacy if need be?

The door to the bedroom can be shut...closing it and it's bathroom off from the living area.

ETA agree with PPs that the Murphy beds are comfortable. Having a kitchenette (microwave and real refrigerator/freezer!) is very handy.
