Hi all,

Originally my plan was to stay at Pop as I wanted to use the skyliner but unfortunately they all seemed to have been sold out. I have now booked a stay at All Star movies but am regretting not staying at a skyliner resort. As I tend to visit Epcot and HS a lot. Would a standard room at AoA be worth it? I’ve heard those rooms are pretty far from everything so that’s a bit of a turn off. i was thinking of switching to CBR but the rooms don’t seem as appealing to me compared to the all star ones and is a big price jump.

Any suggestions are appreciated!

I have never stayed at any All Stars, but I have stay at AofA in Little Mermaid room when Skyliner was in testing phase. We enjoyed it. I believe that AofA is same layout as Pop, so unless you were staying preferred the walk would be the same. Unless you were able to get close to the hub, CBR would certainly be a hike, that resort is huge. I would not hesitate to move to AofA. Maybe you can request the building that is closest to the Skyliner. Have a great trip!

AofA has a similar layout as Pop, except when it comes to the standard LM rooms. Those rooms are far out (and I don’t mean in a groovy way lol) compared to any standard room at Pop, especially since there are Pop standard rooms in every building.

Personally, I’d keep Movies for now, but keep checking for Pop availability.
But If you really want that Skyliner resort no matter what, book the LM room and request building 7.

What do you like better about All Star Movies? I have stayed there 2 times, but have never stayed at AOA and was thinking of staying there next.

I like the overall layout better. AOA has long winding paths that you can't exactly cut around.
I also like the bus service better. I understand AOA has the Skyliner and that's nice for EPCOT/HS but their bus service is not as efficient tot he other parks.
I've never really cared for the food court at AOA because its loud without the carpeting although I know Movies was refurbished so maybe they don't have carpet anymore?
I've always felt like the AOA food court smells like wet dog too. But haven't been to it in a while so maybe that has changed.
My BIGGEST reason for choosing Movies over AOA though is PRICE. I mean come on the standard rooms have not been refurbed to have a murphy bed etc but just because the Skyliner is their they have basically doubled the price!
With a good discount you can get any of the All Stars for $125 per night. Meanwhile the AOA LM Standard rooms generally don't get discounted. And the Suites cost as much as a Deluxe part of the time!

If you want the Skyliner and to be able to go to AOA for food and to walk around then I'd stay at POP instead. Again price is crazy for what it is but still a better option than AOA.
This is all just my opinion remember.

Pop century is my go to when I can’t rent points. I’ve stayed at the All Stars and they’re fine. Also also, if you know this already I apologize but did you turn off the special offer deal and just see if they have the room available for the regular price? Might still come out less than or around the same price as the AoA little mermaid rooms.

Also if you’re sure about Pop you can check a third party website as well. I use them more often than the disney website because sometimes the rates are better.

What parks do you visit the most? Have you priced out the Swan and Dolphin? Sometimes you can get them for around the cost of a Disney moderate. And they put you at a great location right behind Epcot.

I'm definitely an EPCOT girl but I go to all four parks on every visit. Even the shorter ones! I've priced out Swan and Dolphin, and honestly, after they add resort fees and taxes, it's always cheaper to rent points or I just stay at an All Stars. I'm out all day. I either go with other adults or I have an older child. So if i really don't feel like waiting on Disney transportation I just Uber or Lyft.

I was just coming in to say that I'd book AoA over Movies. I just did a 3 night stay at Movies and wasn't super impressed. I guess I'm too spoiled by the Skyliner.

The skyliner does spoil you. If it wasn't for the skyliner I would never look at Pop or AoA. I like the smaller size of the all stars, and I think they have better food courts.

This will be my first time using the skyliner so I’m looking forward to using it!

I also didn't like the gift shop at Movies. I feel like the one at Pop had more to choose from.
