All Star vs POFQ

We stayed at POFQ last time and didn't make use of the pool, or any features of the resort, save QS dining, because we were in the parks nearly the entire time.

It works out about $500+ cheaper to stay value for our honeymoon in early October. Will we be miserable? Seems like I read a lot about how crowded the buses are at All Stars. I have never stayed value before, but we are trying to be somewhat budget-minded...

Then again, we won't feel quite so pressed to do everything at the parks this time since we covered almost every attraction last time and now know which we don't have much of a desire to revisit. Is easier bussing and a fancier pool worth the price increase in your opinion?

Lastly, of the All Stars, is there any glaring reason not to stay at Music? I like the theming best there.

We stayed at Pop Century several times before we started stayed at the moderates. We finally settled on POFQ. We like the small size and buses there the best. The values are going to be the busiest obviously because of the price.

We have enjoyed the All Stars and Music is a great resort. The buses are no more crowded than any other resort buses. They are smaller than any of the other resorts, so even if you share a bus w/ another All Star, it really is no different than getting on a bus w/ multiple stops at a moderate, or deluxe. The one different thing about the buses, is that there is a queue for each park. You won't have to worry about people jumping in front of you to get on the bus. The stops are not covered at the resort, but since you'll be there in October, that isn't as big of a deal.

If you plan on using the resort pool and relaxing a lot at the resort - it might be worth the extra $. I haven't stayed at POFQ, so I can't really say for certain that it would be worth it.

I think ASMU would be nice for what you're describing though you might consider upgrading to a King.

Have a wonderful time.

:)

Stayed at movies last year and thought it was great (we did Coronado for our wedding). The separate queue for each park is a huge bonus, and IMO you get more frequent busses to and from the value resorts than we did at Coronado. The restaurant wasn't as nice, but there were some pluses:
- One night they did a Disney trivia game for kids and parents. Being kids at heart DW and I asked to participate and had a blast with all the other families.
- we spent nan hour one night in the arcade before going to mk for magic hours and again had a great time.
We never felt the resort was too crowded or a hinderance to our vacation in any way, and if you're looking to save a bit I'd definitely recommend it. For us we also know we aren't going to enjoy a nice hotel room but to enjoy Disney so wed rather save on a room we'll only be using for sleeping.

We stay at All Star Music & really like it. We aren't "resort" people so basically a place to sleep & shower is what we want at WDW. Have spent a little time by the pool & it has fun activities/music going on. Decent food court on site. Theming is fun. Haven't had an issue with overcrowded busses....but we go in slower times. Usually each All Star has it's own bus unless it's really slow & then you might combine with the others during the day.

No you won't be miserable. We stay at the values when all we need is a place to sleep. We stay at the moderate or deluxe resorts when we know we will be spending some time hanging out at the resort. If you don't plan on using the pool or lounging around, why spend the extra money?
