All Star Sports Re-HAB Question

I've been reading around the various threads and I'm not sure I read this right..

Have rooms at Sports been renovated/refurbed? Is there much different? I thought I read something about flat screen TV's and I thought - That can't be right..

I'd love to see any pics of the new rooms if anyone has any..

I was there in mid-Sept. in the Home Run section that had been rehabbed. Don't recall flat-screen TVs - I think it would have stuck out in my mind. I know there's new furnishings, carpeting, bedspreads w/new design, wall trim and pictures. I really enjoyed staying there, even though it was brief.

Will be there again next week and have requested the Touchdown section. I'll be sure to make a mental note to look at the TVs!

I just got back from a stay at the All Star Sports. It was my 2nd time staying there and I absolutely loved it. I was upgraded to a preferred room in the Surf's Up section (building 6) at no charge. The room was newly renovated. The carpet, bedspread, and furniture were all new. VERY NICE!! The tv was a newer "flatter screen" compared to the old tvs, but it's not a flat screen in the sense of a LCD/plasma panel tv. Here are a few pics:

Yes, both the All Star Music rooms and Family Suites as well as the newly refurbished rooms at All Star Sports have new 27 inch Flat Screen TV's.
(not the thin flat panel plasma and LCD screens but a regular type of TV which has a smooth flat screen.

This is an excerpt from my review of the Family Suites along with a photo:


The TV was a 27 inch flat screen and the cabinet had three drawers under the TV area. There were two shelves next to the TV and a cabinet door which opened to reveal 2 more shelves.

I hope that explains the Flat Screen TV vs. Flat Panel TV.

And yes, I agree the newly refurbished rooms at All Star Sports are looking real nice!

Let us know if Touchdown rooms have been refurbed. We will be staying there the week after thanksgiving and have requested that area. Would love pics! Thanks

We just got back from Sports last weekend and stayed in Touchdown building 7.Our room was refurbished.Very nice room.Looks the same as in the pictures that pinkyfordisney posted but the picture in the room is Mickey playing football.

Do the new rooms have a curtain between the sleeping area and the vanity? I noticed on one of the other threads that some of the rehabbed rooms at one of the other All-Stars had added a privacy curtain.

Does anyone know the rehand schedule? My family has a trip the first week of Jan. and hope to get one of the newly renovated rooms. Maybe by then they will all be renovated so getting one won't be an issue.

The rooms at Pop are not being refubished at this time.
I just wanted to make that clear so you will NOT be disappointed if you are staying at Pop.

Sorry, I have signatures turned off in my preferences or I'd have remembered to change that. I just (Thursday) had to change from POP to Sports when I added a discount code. I will update my signature.

I was really excited to be staying at POP. I couldn't turn down the discount code becuase it was a great savings but the trade off was moving to Sports. It sound as if we'd have a fair chance of getting a refurbished room. I'll just cross my fingers.

I think the renovations are running ahead of schedule at ASSP and I think your chances of getting a refubishished room are quite good .

Oh I do hope they can meet the schedule for the rooms to be completed!

Will be great to have a refurbed room when we arrive in April!
