Generally, we try to avoid any kind of fast food at the resorts. Occasionally, we have lucked upon something really good; but, more often, the food is mediocre at best.
Upon check-in at All Star Sports last week, we were just too tired and hungry to venture out in search of food. Thus, dh ran over to the food court and grabbed a chicken quesadilla for us to split
and some chicken nuggets for the kids
The quesadilla was surprisingly good. It was filled with plenty of chicken and cheese. The chicken nuggets, on the other hand, were almost too disgusting for our children who will eat nearly ANY kind of chicken nugget or tender out there. No one could stomach the fries.
Early one morning, I took my younger ds to the food court for breakfast early one morning. While there were lines for every food area, they moved swiftly. Thank goodness my ds was old enough to hold the tray of food for me, because a solo parent with a little one in a stroller could NOT navigate here. (I saw several parents struggling with this.) My first negative CM experience was here, too. When attempting to pay for my single order of biscuits and gravy and 2 drinks, the cashier demanded (asked would be waaayyy too polite of a phrase to use here) identification to go along with my DDE card. OK, I'm fine with this; but I've never had to do this before. When I commented on this (not grumbling, mind you, just making the kind of small talk many of us from the South feel we have to make to fill the void), she snapped, "Well, they weren't doing their job; but I am!!" She scanned my card, and I paid for my food, had my change tossed at me, and was hurried along. When I got to my seat and looked at my receipt, I discovered that I hadn't gotten my discount!!! Well, it would have been such a small amount (about $2) that there was no way I was going back to tackle that gargoyle!! I will say that this left me with a not-so-magical feeling. I doubt it was how Disney would have wanted me to start my day. How hard is it to say "please," "thank you," etc. The negative definitely overshadowed my positive experience here when the CM at the food counter asked if he had put enough gravy on my biscuits. That was so nice and unexpected. However, I'm afraid I tend to remember best when someone makes me feel uncomfortable with their impolite behavior. I wish that wasn't the case....
On a different note...we never saw the food court so busy that you couldn't find a table. Most of the time, it was nearly empty.
