All Star Sport Vs. CSR benefits vs $$

I'm stuck and need some help! We are booked for All Star Sport in September with upgraded DDP, I was all fine and good with that until my husband threw me a curve ball and asked why I didn't book a moderate resort... So I called and here's the deal it's $333 more for the moderate, same plan.

So the pros: Queen vs double; Coffee pot; Door to vanity area; Your own resort shuttle; Free wifi; Water slide

The cons: $333 more dollars; Kids 2 & 4 probably won't use the slide, Wifi-meh

So for those who may know. Is the shuttle and proximity to the parks that much diferent? I think this is really the deciding factor for me. Any other pros or cons I should be thinking of?

It depends on for how long. For me the $$$ is worth the bigger beds and more comfortable accommodations, Csr really feels more deluxe than some of the deluxe hotels

We prefer moderate over value for the following reasons. I'm omitting the ones you already mentioned.

Hot tubs - very nice after a long day. After all, it's your vacation too!
Multiple bus stops so you're never far from one
Covered bus stops
Double vanity
Bigger rooms
Nicer grounds
Table Service restaraunt

So for us, it's worth the extra $$. But you're the only one who can answer if the extra $$ is worth it to you.

I feel like I'm leaning toward the moderate. The responsible adult in me keeps saying, it's $300 you do not have to spend; the realist in me keeps saying, you would love the moderate and your going to be disappointed in the value. I should just make my husband decide since he's the one who messed with my perfectly laid out plans!

Don't use the double vanity pro for CSR though there's only 1 sink I love love CSR though if I'm staying moderate. I've said a gazillion times on this board that it's the most comfortable beds of any of the properties I've stayed at

I've never stayed at CSR but I know CB and POFQ both have ceiling fans which I consider to be a plus

Also Sports can be hit/ miss in terms of large groups (some of which can be loud).

I'm a saver but I might cave on the $300....

Only you can decide if it is worth the extra money. If you are only going to be in the room to sleep and shower, then I would go with the Value. As far as having your own shuttle, that is true, but what if you are at the last stop and have to stand everytime?

The All-Stars and CSR are fairly close to each other so there would not be much of a time savings going to the parks. We have stayed at CSR and loved it, but we were in a building very close to everything and had very little walking to do.

I pulled the trigger Monday and also switched from ASSp to CSR for Sept. 14-22.

Although it was the hot tub that drew me, the clincher was multiple mug refill stations all over the place.

I just switched From ASMo to POFQ. Main clincher was the slide, boat to DTD, nicer grounds main house with bar. Reason is we are planning on afternoon heat breaks and if it gets too much for kids and my mom, the resort is a nicer place to retreat to. We do plan on mainly being in the parks, except 3 hrs or so an afternoon.

Even for me the idea of being out from 9am to close in heat/ humidty is too much. Need a shower/ plundge clean clothes in there.

CSR is a lovely resort...our previous stay was ASMu, and it is a HUGE upgrade. The beds are super comfortable, the decor is lovely and the grounds are beautiful. It may be a moderate resort but it feels very deluxe! For the several hundred dollars, I would definitely do it...

I would upgrade as well. The PPs have given you lots of pros. As far as I can see the only con is the cost of th upgrade. For me, one of the biggest pro is knowing you won't have to (potentially) deal with crowds of adolescent sports, dance or cheerleading teams and their 'chaperones'.

We upgraded this morning. The queen beds were a huge selling point as we're used to a king. On top of a lot of other perks it just sounded really good for $300. I requested building 9B since there won't be a convention there at that time, it seems like a good location for us. Now to go find as much info as possible and wrap my head around the change!

I would recommend moderate as well. We stayed at ASMu last oct, versus CBR the previous year. Will defintely spend the extra on a moderate in future.

The other nice thing about CSR, is that there are actual DOORS separating the bathroom from the sleeping area. This way those that aren't going to rope drop can sleep in peace!

The rest of the moderates have a curtain seperating the two areas.

Good choice! I go solo alot and still choose the moderates. To me they are well worth the small price difference. Even though my next two trips are at POFQ, I was at CSR this past May and Sept. It's probably my favorite WDW resort. Reasons: most comfortable beds, consistently has the best bus service of any WDW resort, love the covered bus stops at the moderates, hot tub, pool slide, love the quiet pools, CSR is the only moderate to have a health club/spa, love the ceiling fans in the moderates, love the Pepper Market, like that you can fill your mug and order food right there at the main pool, love the peaceful relaxing ambiance of the moderates compared to the frantic, busy crowded feel of the values, and CSR usually has some of the closest bus stops coming out of the parks at night.

Shuttle and proximity is not THAT much different, however for $333 I would prefer a moderate. Just my opinion.

I'm apparently in the minority, but I would stay at the value. Even if I was really wealthy, I'm fairly certain that I would still stay at a value though. I just don't see myself paying money for a room when I'm spending most of my time in the parks. For me personally, I just want a room that's clean and has a place to get some sleep. We stayed in POP for our first trip and it was great. Have reservations at AoA in October.

I just comes down to your preference. Either way, I'm sure you will have a great time!

We just stayed at CSR in April and it is so nice. You are going to love it! Have fun!

Funny - my sister & I were just talking about the difference between values and moderates.

We stayed at CSR in 2010 and really liked it. The bus service was great, and we really liked the covered bus stands with the ceiling fans - it was nice to have some protection from the hot hot August sun. The multiple bus stops is HUGE plus, and the queen beds were very comfortable. My DD loved the pool area and the waterslides were fun. You can get your mug refilled at the pool as well. Pepper Market was ....... okay (food was good, but I thought the service in the various food stations was poor).
