We used to be a family of four and stayed in the Bonnet Creek Resort in Orlando, but since my mom passed, and my dad got a girlfriend who has a son and we started taking my cousin on vacations as well, we were a party of 6 in a villa. Now, we're going in 15 days (eeekkkk I'm SO excited. I can't even explain the excitement I have for this trip) for my birthday, and it's also going to be my dad's girlfriends sons' birthday in the same day. So I'm going with my little brother, my older cousin, and then the "step-brother". We are having money problems which is why the other people in our normal party aren't going, so this is the most cost-efficient hotel for the four of us. I'm just wondering for anyone who has stayed there, was it any good? I've heard lots of bad reviews but it's really the only things we can afford, and we have to stay on Disney property.

We have stayed there twice, and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. It has been a few years, but I don't think it has changed much. Music is our favorite of the value resorts. It seems quieter than the others we've stayed at. As long as you know going in that the rooms are small, there is not a sit-down restaurant, and there is no slide at the pool, you should be fine. If the buses are shared between the 3 All Stars (sometimes they are, sometimes they are not), Music is in the middle. There are always good and bad reviews, and it seems like those with negative experiences are faster to post. Of course, things can happen. You can get a room that is worn, that hasn't been properly cleaned, etc., and this can happen anywhere. If something isn't up to expectations, go to the front desk (do not call, that gets you a call center no matter how they answer the phone) and speak to someone in person. Question, though. Are you getting two rooms or a family suite?

None of us are "kids". Well, a 12 year old, but he's mature where we don't need a slide. And the sit-down restaurant is no big deal, we never eat in those that are in the hotels anyways. I'm just concerned about the noise, but you cleared that up. We are getting one room that has two beds. So the boys will share one and the girls will share the other, which works perfectly for our group.

I'm sorry, I misread the post. I thought there were six people. We've stayed at value resorts 8 times and haven't had issues with noise. You will hear the occasional door slamming, people walking by outside, things like that. To reduce the noise from people walking by, ask for a second or third floor room, and not facing a pool. We were on the back side of Jazz building 2 the first trip and the back side of Broadway, near the parking lot and service road towards ASMovies the second time. Both were quiet locations. If you hear water running/toilets flushing from the room next to you, you can close your bathroom door to help with that.

I hope you enjoy your trip! I know it is disappointing when you have to downgrade what you originally thought, but I'm glad you still get to go.

We just stayed at Music over spring break at the end of March (over Easter) so the resort was full up. I've stayed at many of the Disney hotels so I know how they differ from value to moderate to deluxe - so no surprises there. I did have a problem with our room - I was surprised that the two chairs had huge brown stains on them and looked terrible - ick! Also the walls in the bathroom and around the sink needed to be cleaned (there was brown stuff on the walls..toothpaste...who knows what all it was!). I did go to the manager the next day (check in day was way too busy) and they swapped the chairs and made fixes. Overall the room was comfortable - no problems at all with noise - the pool and ground were fine and the food court was very good I thought. The food court was renovated a year or two ago I think. No problems with busses. I probably prefer PoP or Art of Animation (I like the theming of them more) but I would stay here again. I think its a great choice for keep the costs down and being on property - and if there is any issue with your room just let the front desk know. Enjoy your trip!

ALL STAR MUSIC is the prettiest of the ALL Stars, IMO. The rose garden and fountain area by the Jazz Inn is a very nice little area to stroll through or relax in for a moment or two. Rooms/suites in Calypso or the Jazz Inn are convenient to everything. The standard rooms are a bit further from Melody Hall (where the food court, shop and buses are), but it really isn't all that bad. Certainly the rooms in that area have always been quiet when we were there.

We have stayed in ASMu often and never had a bad experience. You need to expect small basic rooms with two double beds that are comfortable enough and set in motel style buildings.
We have some wonderful memories of great trips during which we stayed at ASMu. I expect that you will fully enjoy your time at this fun resort! After all, you will be in WDW!!! Yay!

Enjoy!

i was wondering about the bus system at all stars. Does each resort have its own bus? Stayed at movies 12 years ago & the bus stopped at all 3 picking up & dropping off , how is it done now. Usually stay at POP,but wanted to do something different this trip

The majority of the time they have their own bus. During the slower parts of the afternoon they will share, but it's no often. During a total of 36 nights across the All Stars we shared a bus 4 times. And each of those times there were maybe 6 other people on the entire bus.
