We are starting to make plans for our trip in January, 2010:yay:. We have stayed at the All Star Resorts in the past but the problem is is that we have grown(width way:rotfl2:)a little over the years. My DD and DS are now older(20&17) and don't want to share a bed, I can't blame them:goodvibes, also my DW and I probably can not fit comfortably in a double bed that POFQ has and the next resort up is a deluxe which is going to cost more than $2000.00:scared1:more(inc. deluxe dining). I just looked at ASMu family suite and it looks pretty good to me but my wife needs some convincing because of the very small rooms and busses. If anyone has stayed there please help with some imput. Thanks

A big "Yay" from me! There wasn't anything about the Family Suites that I didn't like. Having 2 bathrooms is a huge plus, as is having the little kitchenette. I also liked having a living room area to hang out in during the day, instead of having to try be comfortable sitting on a bed.

I shared the couch pull-out with my nice, and it was as comfortable as a regular bed. My nephew slept on the chair pull out and he said it was comfortable too. In fact, after our Family Suite stay during a sperate trip we stayed in 2 Value rooms, and everyone liked the Family Suite better, no question.

Big :cheer2: for me too!!!!! They are nice and big, and that QS bed is AWESOME. There are also 2 tvs, and 2 BATHROOMS (something that might be nice with two "big" kids). We had a ton of room in the suite, they are not crowded feeling like a room with 2 double beds crammed in there.

We had no problems with the buses in March during Spring Break, so I'm pretty sure the buses in January won't be an issue. PLUS, the fam suites are in the front/preferred buildings... so not a far walk to the big pool, the main building, or the buses.

Here are a few pics I found in my searching back when I booked our first trip. These may have even come off the DIS somewhere (I had to download them to my comp, so I could email them to DH... silly office internet blocks ;) ) :

Another +1 from our family. It worked out really well with older children.

I cannot vouch for the suites specifically since I have not been able to stay in one yet! But I can vouch for ASMU. Its a favorite of ours and we have stayed at all the moderates, a couple of deluxes and our share of DVC's. We enjoy the food court and pool and find it to have the prettiest landscaping of all the values.

Our kids are getting older (13 adn 15) and if dh hadn't just taken a paycut, I woud love to stay in one in March! Having two bathrooms, a queen bed for dh and I, plus the mini kitchen would be so nice.

I say give it a try. We've never had any issues with the busses at the All Stars. They only share busses during off times. Coming back at park closing, we have never one time shared a bus. We've stayed at Music three times now and really like it and will go back for sure.

We just stayed in an ASMu Family Suite last month and we loved it. With two older kids I think it will be perfect for you because you will have two bathrooms!!! Keep in mind that your kids will be sleeping on a fold out sofa and chair but our 8 years old said the sofa bed was very confortable. It won't feel small to you at all - the kitchenette area really opens up the Suite so you don't feel like you are just staying in two connecting rooms that had the connecting door removed. There's also tons more storage space because you have two "closets" within each of the vanity areas, dressers in each room, and shelving in the kitchenette area. We have stayed at ASMo several times and we noticed that the suites seemed much quieter than the regular rooms we have stayed in before. I think you will really like a Suite.
