So I am planning a trip to WDW with my parents next autumn. I would love to stay at the Art of Animation Resort, but am thinking the All-Star Movies Resort might fit my budget better. I was just wondering if anyone had stayed at both, and if they thought Art of Animation was worth the extra moolah.

I'm of two minds. On one hand, I see the hotel as just a place to shower and sleep. On the other hand, I see that a really cool sleeping spot can add to the experience.

Thanks for your help!

We LOVE ASMo... I do think AoA would be more fun, colorful, and just overall the place I'd like to stay more.

I however, can not justify the additional cost. Since LM rooms are excluded so far from everything, ASMo it is for me. It truly is a sleep/shower room for us aside from arrival day so for us it's not worth it. If I'm rack rate I'd stay there over ASMo.

We stayed in AoA last april and it was awesome. i'd totally pay the extra again and again and again.

Unforunately, they booked up too early for our Christmas trip, so we'll be testing the waters at All Star Music, because we had a pin for Free Dining there.

So I've got as big of a question as you. But i can let you know after December! haha.

Where else have you stayed? What made AoA worth the extra?

Thanks for the advice. I am leaning in the direction of cheaper Resort, better Dining Plan. :cool2:

I love AoA it is a step up from the other values much nicer pool and ground. When we went through the locked gate of the Nemo pool it did not even feel like a value. DD and I would stay there again in a heartbeat. DH did not like LM because of the walk to the buses and food court.

I loved staying at ASMo a few years ago. It was more compact than POP which until AoA was always the kids choice. We stayed in a standard room in the Fantasia section which was convenient. It was also much less crowded than POP.

This September DH and I will be staying at ASMo for a weekend during the FD promotion. I would have stayed at AoA had the FD had been offered there. So to answer your question AoA is not worth a big difference in price to us.
