OK....

There's still a little work to be done, but for the most part it's finished. Below is a link to my review of the "All Star Movies" resort, complete with photo's. I have split the section up a little, and review the room, the pool, and the food court on separate pages (you will see links off the main page).

Anyway, let me know what you think, and let me know if there's any error's. (By the way... I'm very long winded, and detailed - so please don't rag on me too hard if there's "overkill" with the review - I like to provide as much info as possible)

Anyway, here's the link...

The site looks great!!
I am really looking forward to ASMu and ASMo coming up.
Like you, I wasn't expecting much with ASMo and was pleasantly surprised all the way around! :bounce: ASMo was darn near perfect!!!

What a great review! That's exactly how we feel about the All Stars. We have now stayed at all three and I have yet to be dissapointed.

The web site looks great and I will have to spend some time looking around.

Thanks for the pics and the reviews. I'm actually going to be staying there this coming April with my 9 yr old dd and I have only stayed at moderates before and was worrying a little about being at a value. Your information helps me to feel more secure about my decision. ASMo looks very colorful and fun. Can't wait to go now.:)

We LOVE the All Star Movies. We have stayed there 3 of the past 4 trips to WDW. The only time we didnt stay is when we went on the land/sea Disney Cruise. We werent able to stay at the all stars as they dont offer the value rooms with the cruise package. I even asked if we could stay at all stars instead of port orleans and was told no!! :( We are going again over Thanksgiving and are staying at all star sports this time. Movies was booked full!!! We asked for the Touchdown building and it looks really cool! I cant wait! We are going back again in January to use our annual passes one last time before they expire and will stay in all stars again! Im going to let the kids decide which one they liked more.. Movies or Sports.

Jewelray... Be happy you chose All Stars!! You will love it and so will your DD!! We stayed at PO FQ for the cruise and it really wasnt much bigger at all!! I was very surprised to see that it was fairly small for almost twice the price. We stayed at Movies last January with 2 adults, 2 kids and an infant in a pack and play and we were fine! We love it there!!

AimeeM thanks for the support and I am totally excited to be staying at ASMo now! I do have one question for you though and that is do you think it's worth paying the extra $ for the preferred room in Fantasia. My dd loves that theme but I will be able to stay an extra day if we do a standard room and I'm thinking of requesting either Toy Story or 101 Dalmation rooms because they look closest to the Fantasia pool and the cinema hall which is important. We'd love to be poolside if we could LOL! Any opinions are welcome.

I could go on all day about how wonderful your site is and informative!! I'm at work and lunch is about over so this is brief but THANK YOU!

We spent the extra money to stay in Fantasia in January, and quite frankly, its just as good staying in Dalmations. AND.. Dalmations isnt considered 'preferred view'. The inside of the rooms all look the same, no matter what building you stay in. Its just the outsides that are different. We had the preferred room, but we were still at the back of building 8, facing lovebug. We couldnt even see the pool or food court building from our room. Was it worth it? No. Id definately try for the closer of the Dalmation buildings and stay an extra night. Your daughter would appreciate that more Im sure!! :earsgirl: Look on a map, and get the number of the closer Dalmation building. Call CRO ( central reservations office) and add that request to your reservation. They wont guarentee you get it, but chances are pretty good you will. We are staying at ASSports over thanksgiving and didnt want the preferred room. We chose the cheaper room in the Touchdown Bldg which is RIGHT next to the food court. It looked a little closer than the preferred rooms! You mentioned Toy Story, Id have to look at the map, but if you are standing outside of the foodcourt, looking at the main pool, Toy Story is to the left, but I dont think you can even see those buildings from there. I'll check and get back to you, but Im almost positive Dalmations is way closer!!

Here is a link to a map of Movies

Try asking for a room in bldg 1 or 4 ( both are dalmations) as close to the pool as you can get. They will note this on your reservation and do their best to give it to you. I'll explain where I stayed.. look at bldg 8, the Fantasia bldg with the jack-in-the-box and look at the BACK of it facing love bug. You can see the room numbers on the wing. Where it says 8701, we were where the 8 is. All the way in the back, facing Love bug and next to the parking lot. That cost us 10 more dollars and really wasnt worth it at all. Toy Story seems to be a bit further away than dalmations. Call CRO now, and call a few days before you leave to remind them where you want to stay ( this is what they told me to do for our Nov. trip!) good luck!!

AimeeM, Wow I never thought about it like that but I see what your talking about. I think I'm going to go for it. I'm going to request either the Dalmation Bldg. #1 or Woody Toy Story Bldg. facing the pool if possible. I requested Cabanas 8A this past summer and got it so I suppose it's worth a try. Thanks for the insight I appreciate it.

What an excellent review and pictures, CWIPPERMAN!! Like you, we have stayed at Dixie Landings (twice) and while I loved that resort, we have found our 3 stays at All Star Music just as good and in fact, a better value for our Canadian dollar! Most of the time we have had a room at the back and as you stated at ASMo, it's not more than a five minute walk (at the most) to the main building. I just left the money for the tip for "mousekeeping" on the pillow. This last trip she would leave me little notes hoping that we had had a good day or were enjoying our stay, etc, which I thought was so nice! I think the All Stars are a fun place to stay and can't wait to go back!

(BTW, I noticed in your review that you referred to Dixie Landings as Port Orleans ~ French Quarter. It is actually Port Orleans ~ Riverside. POFQ is the smaller resort next door to POR or "Dixie Landings". Just thought I'd mention it since you asked.)

AimeeM, thanks so much for the help. I looked at the map and made up my mind to request Toy Story Woody Bldg. or 101 Dalmations #1 facing the pool in either if possible. I was able to add another night to my ressie also for $37.00 by doing the standard view as well

Jewelray,

We were in the "Woody" building, and loved it. We were right on the path, and a very quick walk to the pool...

Our room was right on the path...

So, if you put in your request, ask for 9700-9710. Those were the rooms on the bottom floor near the path. Any of those rooms would be a 30 second walk to the pool.

And, enjoy your trip. Even though I just got back, I'm jealous of anyone that is going. I can't wait to get back there!

A quick side note. I have been busy at work, but in the next couple days should be putting up more pages of reviews. Thanks to all for the kind words about the site.

Thank you so much CWIPPERMAN and your site is really cool. I'm sorry you didn't fare as well with the bus transportation and I'm really hoping that they get it together before we go since my dd tends to get antsy after a couple of minutes of waiting like any child and forget it if she's tired at the end of the day. She'll be leaning on me until we get back to the room!! I am excited to be going back. I swear they must put something in the water for all us grownups to be so disney crazy over and over again :)

jewelray! I hope you get the building you want! I think the Dalmation building will be a tad bit closer, but that Toy Story looks SOO CUTE! In the 3 times we stayed there, weve never walked back there and it looks really really cute! I may have to request those buildings for our January trip!! I bet your are thrilled to get an extra night!!! WOOHOOO!! 37.00?? thats incredibly cheap!! Cheaper than my AP rate for a standard room in November!

Hi AimeeM, I just want to clear up something. I switched my ressie from 7 nights preferred view to 8 nights standard and then it was only an additional $37.00 for the extra night because I'm not paying the extra $ for preferred room. Thank you again!!! The Toy Story Bldg. does look adorable and I will be happy in either. You'll be there soon so I hope you have a great trip. Next time I'm going to go around the holidays either Halloween or Christmas.

oohh.. ok, I understand now! I cant wait to get back to WDW! Especially when the Christmas decorations will be up the 2nd day we will be there. We get to have Thanksgiving dinner at Epcot and then get to do the special holiday things!! We are doing the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party too!! Im so excited. We will be going 3 times within one years time! It never gets boring to me. I'll let you know how it is during the holidays!! :)

Please do let me know how the holiday activities are. I have a friend here at work that is a disney nut too and she's going to be there the end of November and then again next December so she'll be doing the CP and the MVMCP too! I think it sounds like so much fun. You can pm me if you want too! Thanks again for all the tips. I really can't wait to go back:D
