All star movies preferred rooms???????

The Fantasia Buildings are the preferred buildings, but IMO, the resort is pretty compact, and all buildings are somewhat close to the main building. We just stayed in Mighty Ducks which is the furthest and it was about a 3 minute walk, alone, 5 with the kids.

We stayed at Movies, and I think that unless you really want Fantasia, you will be wasting your money. Dalmatians and Toy Story are not that much further. They are both in such great locations, that I don't think Fantasia really has anymore to offer. If you were staying at ASMu or Sports, then I might suggest a preferred.

We stayed in a preferred room at ASMo in July. It really wasn't worth it...though it was the only room type that was available when I made my reservation. Really you pay an extra $10 a night for nothing.

Our room was only a 2 or 3 minute walk (if that) from the farthest out rooms in the Herbie section. We always ended up parking in the farthest parking lot because the lots were so full, too.

The resort really is fairly compact...and we would have preferred a room in Dalmatians or Toy Story, which I think would have been just as close to the check in/ food court area.

Yes, I agree that both the Toy Story and the Dalmatians bldgs are just as close as Fantasia. We walked from one end (TS) to the other (MD) to go to the other pool and it was a very short walk.

One interesting thing we found in the Love Bug bldgs is a squirting water fountain coming up out of the sidewalk and streams of water coming down from the center in the Winner's Circle courtyard area. My first thoughts were "who would ever want to stay way out here?" but once my kids discovered this it was easy to see why!! It's also nice and quiet back there if that interests you.
