Hi All

Not sure if this is the right place to post this..

I would love your opinions on which resort you would choose.

Our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids) over the past 6 years have stayed at each of the All Stars, Pop (twice) and Caribbean Beach Resort this year. Although we've never stayed at Art of Animation, we've crossed over from Pop and have walked the grounds there. The Suites at Art of Animation appear quite nice from what I've seen, but the dollars involved are quite high. The reason that we've been able to go 6 years in a row is because we've always stayed at the Value resorts and have booked based on price.

The "standard" rooms (also known as the Little Mermaid Rooms) are very well themed, but they are similar in size to some of the standard rooms at the All Star resorts, so we've had a hard time trying to swallow the price of those rooms. Those standard rooms are also a fair distance from the main hall and the main buildings.

Last time we were at Pop, we took the time to walk through all of Art of Animation and were surprised at how far those Little Mermaid rooms were from the food court. Our room over at Pop was closer..

The theming at the All Stars are very cool, and very much makes you feel like you are at Disney.

I'd investigate POP Century as an option too. We are going to Pop for our 3rd visit in August.

Personally with that age...I don't think you can go wrong. Is there a favorite character or movie that they absolutely adore?

So...we were considering two of the value resorts for a long time. I wanted to stay at Art of Animation since I know my daughter would love it, shes been asking to go there and telling me over and over how much she loves ariel and mermaids. I also appreciated the themeing on the grounds and the neat playgrounds. That being said, the price of the room was hard to swallow. We wound up doing a split stay. We decided 3 nights at AOA while we do our days at the resort and then move over to Pop while we do our park days. The resort suits my son a little better and the beds are larger. Plus the price is a little easier on our budget. We saved around $300 by switching part of our trip to Pop and we also get to stay at AOA. For us it works but I understand it's not for everyone.

Thanks for taking the time to reply! We will check out Pop but I think the theming at Movies is more suited to our kids. I would save a little over $400 for 7 nights staying at Movies over AoA so that will most likely be the determining factor.

Thanks! My wife doesn't want to split stay until the kids are older

I understand that. If the themeing of movies suits your family better and you'll save a good chunk of money I would go with that resort over AOA since AOA is a lot more expensive. Also how much do you think you'll be spending at the resort?

Good point. Not too much time but hoping to do 1 off park day where we swim and what not. The Aoa pool looks really great for the kids

Thanks again for everyone's help! I ended up getting 2 rooms at Pop Century. 1 room for us and 1 room for the grandparents!

you will love POP! we are staying there again for the 5 time-adults only trips :) you can walk over the bridge and check out AOA.

Art Animation - Little Mermaid section if it's available or some other theme land if you can afford. they look AMAZING!
but the Movies are beautiful too, we stayed last year and I love it very much! ♥

With the age group of the two girls go with what you can afford. Children love everything Disney and just so excited to be there. They will be happy with any resort. All Star Movies is having their rooms renovated at this moment. We have been taking our son since he was 4 1/2 yrs old. He will be graduating high school next year. For June 2019(graduation celebration) we have all decided on All Star Movies. He grew up with Toy Story and we have never stayed there. He said to save money. He told me All Star Movies is just fine. Even when children get older they don't lose the magic.
