We are staying at the ASMR. We just booked a standard room but if there are openings, will they upgrade you to a preferred?

To upgrade to a "preferred" building will cost you an additional $12 per night. Toy Story & 101 Dalmations are on either side of the main building/food court/bus stop and are quick walks to the main pool, as well as the other areas.

I just booked a preferred room for July at the Movie Value Resort and was told I would be in the Fantasia building. I was also told that it was quite near the main lobby. Can anyone confirm this or tell me where it is.

I wouldn't even bother with preferred rooms. On our trip last year we "had" preferred and it wasn't worth it. We were so close to the Love Bug section we should have just stayed there or in the Toy Story or Dalmation buildings. I much rather would have stayed in the Dalmation buildings since I like dogs. We were in Fantasia 2000 building clear in the back by a parking lot.

Next year we are staying at POP and not even bothering with a preferred room this time. Money that would have been better served in our pocket then in Disney's.
