I've heard a lot of complaints about the bus system at ASmo. I called to ask a CM at reservations, and immediately they tried to change my res for *** or POP. I declined, as I think ds would like the Toy Story theme at ASmo.

Anyone been to ASmo that has something nice to say?

Anyone stayed in the Toy Story area?

I'm very interested in some honest opinions. I think tomorrow is the last day to change my res.

Thanks!

how funny. I guess I didn't think about it when posting, but the *** is where I shortened All Star Sports too much! Sorry!!!

We stayed at ASMo and really enjoyed ourselves. We were in the love bug section, which was one of our last choices but it actually ended up working to our advantage as there were large groups of high school sports teams at the resort and our area was much more quiet than the rest. We really enjoyed the lobby area as well as the Food Court (the theming is super cute) and our room was clean and comfortable. At night we would go to the pool which was mostly deserted or sit outside and just relax. We find the overall theming the most attractive of all of the Values. As for the bus system, we generally used a rental car (which is always a big plus at any resort) but I know even from staying at ASSp that the buses can be problematic. That would be the only deterrent of the stay however.

One last thing- if you walk over to ASMu at night (10 minute walk) they show movies at the pool!

DH and I have stayed at all four of the value resorts numerous times (we live a couple of hours away and go for 6-8 weekends per year), and really have never noticed a difference in bus transportation between any of them. Sometimes the buses are slow; sometimes they're fast; sometimes they're way overcrowded; sometimes they're empty.

We really enjoy staying at all the values except (recently) Pop, as it seems much more smoky than the other values.

I stayed at ASMovies in Feb. 2006 and we loved it. The theming is adorable, mousekeeping was wonderful and we very much enjoyed the food court. Only once did we have bus issues. I liked it so much we're going back this August.

We stayed there this past Nov 07 during Jersey week. It was great. It was our first time staying there, we stayed there because my Niece was with us and she loves Buzz and Woody and Dalmations. We stayed in the Woody Section and we absolutely loved it. Our room was great, Mouse Keeping was great and had our kids stuffed animals in very creative places every evening when we came back to our room. The kids really got a kick out of that. Pool was great, food court was nice. (only did breakfast there)
We have no complaints at all. Never waited more than 10 minutes for the bus. We would definetly stay there again.:tinker:

Love ASMovies,(any of the values are fab) we stay mainly at values because were broke, but were broke cuz we go to WDW alot!:rotfl2: :moped: :drive: :beach: :upsidedow
Luvbug is FAAAARRRRRRR from the busses with a sleeping child, thats my only downer for Luvbug, otherwise its cute as...well, a BUG :upsidedow

Cute icons, no prob with mousekeeping, pools are darling, foodcourt is fine, comfy beds, never had any troubles and we stay value EVERY time(8 trips last yr):joker:

Go and spend your $ in the parks-(not on your hotel room) have a great trip!!:flower3:

We've stayed at ASMo twice, and absolutely love it! The theming is just perfect for kids (and fun for adults, too). Mousekeeping was excellent. The rooms were clean and attractive. The food court is awesome! Depending on the season, the buses sometimes do share with the other values. This was really only a problem coming home at the end of the night, since the line gets very long having all three values together. But...the buses came frequently (most of the time). One trick we learned was that you could get off/on at ASMu. Depending on your room location, it was often the same distance to walk to their bus stop as it was to the one at ASMo...plus, you get on/off first.

We stayed in the Toy Story section for our first stay. It was so neat to be right by Andy's room. We stayed in the Love Bug section in 'o6. It was quite a distance to the food court/bus stops (and just as short to do the walk to ASMu). But, we never would have discovered the little splash area for the kids if we hadn't stayed back there.

We really don't have anything bad to say:cool1:

I stayed at AsMo twice...loved it noth times.Thought the Bus system was much better then at CBR...:goodvibes

Look at my signature. That'll tell you how much we love ASMovies. At any resort, you're bound to run into a bus issue from time to time. Overall, I've always been more than pleased with the service at ASMovies.

We have stayed there with no problem. As far as getting the Toy Story buildings those are preferred rooms and there is an additional charge per night. Even when you book a preferred there is no garantee that you will get Toy Story. Toy Story is considered a request in the preferred room block. The bus system worked fine and we are returning for a few days in October.

DBF and I stayed at ASMo in mid-May 2006-we absolutely loved the theming of the resort, it was so cute! We stayed in the Toy Story section (it's my favorite Disney Movie) and got tons to great pictures with all of the giant characters. The buses were never a problem, but it seemed to be a rather un-crowded time to be there (we walked on several rides each day, and others had minimal waits). Our only complaint was noise-which is to be expected at a resort with lots of little kids running around (I highly recommend ASMo for little ones-all of the kids we saw were so excited to see all of the giant characters!). The rooms were cute too-we really liked the popcorn box light over the table! I can't say much about the food court as we only grabbed a snack there on our last day, so I don't know what the hot food is like-the theming was cute though!

This past year we stayed at POR-it was relaxing and much quieter (which was nice as we were there in August when it was much more crowded and HOT-so it was nice to go back to relax mid-day). However, it didn't immerse you in Disney like the Values do with their bright theming and characters (which was also nice as we were feeling a bit overwhelmed with the heat and the crowds).

For kids and first time on-site visitors I highly recommend ASMo! *Also, I noticed someone posted that the Toy Story buildings were preferred-we had a room facing the courtyard with Andy's toys, on the first floor and did not pay for a preferred room.

I've been there twice and have always stayed in the Toy Story (sheer luck, I guess) well we did have ECVs with us, we had 3 rooms in 2004 and 2 were connecting. My DSis and I had ECVs so I guess that's why we got the TS bldg. We and the kids loved it. It is very Disney-themed and for a first time it should do you well. We used the food courts for breakfast and some dinners. If you are on the DDP, the dinners there would be CS, so keep that in mind, you can use a TS for a character breakfast at the park and save the CS for dinner at the resort. I find that the buses are a little better than at some of the other resorts because most of the time they were designated solely to the resort and there is only 1 stop as opposed to some of the moderates which have several stops and you never know if you are going to get a seat unless you are at the first stop. It just happens that we never had to share with any of the other resorts. JMHO. HTH Have a wonderful time, you'll love it. :thumbsup2

We have stayed at ASMO twice in the past two years. It is our kid's favorite resort, and we have stayed at all of the values and one moderate (CBR). The first time we stayed in the Woody building (right next to Buzz). The kids loved the huge Buzz & Woody and Toy Story statues. The second time we stayed in Love Bug, which was a little farther back from the dining hall, but it was quieter. We are going back again in April and staying at ASMU only because ASMO is not available the week we're going. As far as the bus system goes, we always drive, but we rode the bus one day and it was not bad. I think it took us 20 minutes to get to Magic Kingdom. It was more crowded going back to the resort (we had to wait 15 minutes for a bus), but it wasn't bad overall. Just make sure you allow plenty of time if you have dining reservations, just in case.

They changed it in 2007 so Buzz and Woody are now preferred. :sad2: If you don't want to pay the extra for a preferred room, you could always walk over there and check it out and take pictures by the characters.

We stayed at ASMo last Sept in the Fantasia Bldg. We really liked it. We'll be returning there this Sept.

Buses were great. Several times we were the only people on the bus! We stayed at the Poly in Dec 06 --it was faster to get to AK, Epcot, and MGM from ASMo than it was from the Poly.

We stayed at Movies last time we went. I can't remember exactly what building we were in but we were close to the Mighty Duck mask. We were at the very edge of the resort.

The second morning there, we actually discovered it was quicker to walk to the lobby of the Music resort. We started going over there to eat and catch the bus every morning. There was more than one morning we got on the bus at Music and the bus didn't even go to Movies because it was too full.

Movies was just fine, we'll probably stay at Sports next time because they get to the buses first.

Does anyone know the list of "preferred" bldgs besides Toy Story? My dd10 is not a huge fan of Buzz and was hoping for Fantasia. This will be our first time at an AllStars resort and we will be spending just one night there.
