We will be staying at the ASMo for our trip 8/22-27. Being we were originally staying at POP, but when free dining came out, we changed our reservation and couldn't get a room at POP. Now, I have no info on ASMo. Other than the pictures I've seen, I would love some info.

We have DS14, DD17, DH and myself.

  • What is the best building to request? preferred view or not?

  • How about the transportation? We will only have disney transportation. How long does it take to get to various parks and how long to get back to the resort?
  • We have several AR at other resorts, how long to get to Grand Floridian? Wilderness Lodge?
  • Does the AS bus stop at other resorts, if so, what order, are you sitting on the bus 'forever'?

I know I'll have more questions, but for now, that is it.

Hello Patricia,

I can answer #3: if you are using WDW transportation you should allow 45-60 minutes to gte from one resort to another. To get to GF you wil have to take the bus to the MK, then take the resort monorail 4 stops to the GF. To get to WL you will need to take the bus to the MK and then walk over to the launch that will take you to WL.

Now, that's assuming that the MK will be open when you ar egoing. For the return trip, if you are going back to ASMO after the parks are closed, you will need to take a bus to DTD and then transfer to an ASMO bus.

In all cases, the fastest way to get from ASMO to GF or WL would be to take a taxi. But that would run you around $15-20 each way.

Don't know if you've seen this, but here is more info on ASMO:

That link will have some answers on transportation. You should allow at least 30-40 minutes to get from ASMO to any of the parks. If you get to the bus stop and there is a bus just arriving, you will make it in less time than that.

Bob,

Thanks so much for the link. I missed that one completely in all my 'browsing' and looking for information. Thanks for your info and for sharing. I appreciate it.

  • What is the best building to request? preferred view or not?
My family had 2 rooms in the Fantasia building (which was preferred). It was right by the pool and close to the main building with the food court. I would say get the preferred building, though I can't really comment on the other buildings, as I've only stayed at ASMo once.

  • How about the transportation? We will only have disney transportation. How long does it take to get to various parks and how long to get back to the resort?
The longest bus rides are no more than 20 minutes. It takes the longest to get to the Magic Kingdom, and the Animal Kingdom is the shortest ride.

  • We have several AR at other resorts, how long to get to Grand Floridian? Wilderness Lodge?
This I really can't answer, so I'd go with the advice given.

  • Does the AS bus stop at other resorts, if so, what order, are you sitting on the bus 'forever'?
Yes, the buses stop at the other All Stars. The order is sports, music, and movies. When my family was there, it was over Spring Break, and there was really only one time when we had to wait a long time for a bus to come.

I hope this helps you a little! Have a great trip!

wdwgirl03,

Thanks for the info. It helps to try to plan our day knowing a bit more how long we might have to take to travel to dinner.
