ALL roll-in shower rooms at POFQ now have 2 queen beds!

Bill, I hope you also sent a letter to Disney, detailing your experiences in the room (like the dance with the closet doors). I've found on occasion while the 'law' is followed, 'common sense' has been missed because the designer wasn't 'thinking' like the person with a disability.

Does anyone know if the POR rooms in AB section that fit a family of 5 are roll in shower accessible?

When are you staying- sorry I forgot.I looked at the renovation schedule for AB and section 14 was completed in December, 2011, buildings 36-39 were completed in Nov/Dec, 2011 and all buildings will be completed by July 6, 2012 ( that's the date for building 35 with the others being done in May/June). HTH!

Glad you found the photos- those rooms look so nice. Queen beds too- even better!

We are going next April. Is the AB section considered Preferred because we have a preferred room.

Certain buildings in AB are considered preferred- in fact, building 14 is preferred and it's already completed- it's right across from the food court and main area/bus stop. If you are staying next April, then all of POR will be finished with their renovations and as such, the accessible rooms will be available in all areas. Building 14 is not the only preferred building, but it will give you the most convenience. On the "renovation schedule" website, buildings 14, 15, 18, and 27 in AB are considered preferred.

From your other post I noticed you are concerned about your dd falling out of bed. You can request a bed rail for her, but I'd contact WDW reservations to have it noted that you need one. If it turns out you don't need it, housekeeping can remove it. Better than having to bring your own!

Hopefully someone will be in one of these rooms before your trip and can report back as to whether the bedding is queens or doubles. Even with the queen bedding it appears that there is adequate space for a w/c to get around in the room and into the roll in shower so I hope they are queens. If I had extra $$ I'd book a room there and include 5 Guests as now I'm curious too!

Thanks for the response!! I really am curious about the set up.. My mind is going a mile a minute with it all and starting looking into Art of Animinations for 2 nights instead of 3 at POR to reassure myself I know we have enough room. Im going to wait a few months before I make a final decision on whether to switch. On a good note we will be switching over to DVC which I know has plenty of room!
