I am so sad. I wanted to surprise my husband and kids with a reservation for a short little jaunt down to WDW on the day after Thanksgiving, for just 4 nights, and just called to find out they have no more rooms left any ANY of the resorts that are available for the AP discount.

If anyone's planning on cancelling a reservation for Nov 28th - Dec 2nd, would you consider letting me know by email? Maybe I could grab your reservation. I don't care which resort. :( :( :(

Just a thought...

If you're willing to change resorts during your stay, you might try having them check for just one or two nights for you.

Good luck!

I know what you mean. Most of the resorts, even at rack rate, are booked up over that weekend. I guess it's going to be busy.

I know the feeling. I was able to get the Caribbean Beach for a few nights, then the Wilderness Lodge for the rest of my stay with the AP rate right when the rates hit. I have been trying for weeks to get the WL for the first few nights, so as not to have to swap resorts and so far, no luck.

Try to check availability arriving on Sunday the 30th for the AP rates & AAA for the 28th & 29th. This may work for you.

Let me know if you're still having trouble.

My dates must be Nov 28th - Dec 2 to maximize hubby's TWO day off work that has left for the year. And we don't get a AAA discount. But thanks for your advice. :)

I think I'm going to have to resort to looking at off-site hotels. :(

I understand your problem even with calling mid-afternoon when the AP rate were released i still couldn't get both of or nights stay at the AKL concierge. We have Friday Nov.28th Deluxe pool view and then Sat. Concierge this will still allow us to do the Sunrise Safari but i have to check-in at the desk real early(6am)to get the access card for the lounge. I wish someone could explain to me why if i had been able to stay Sun. night i could have had all 3 nights at concierge level. Now that 's

Have you considered the All Stars at rack rate (if they're even available). That's would be a reasonable price. ($77 + tax)

If you do go with a non-Disney resort, I would receommend the Hilton at DTD, it's pretty decent and literaly right across the street from DTD. So then you're at least not off-site.

Did you try the Swan or Dolphin. They may still have some rooms left. They did a week or so ago when a friend of ours called and booked the Swan for $144 a night.

We will be at WL from Nov 26- Dec 1(Wed-Mon).

I called the very morning the AP rates were released. I got right in at 7am and was not on hold AT ALL.

NOTHING for WL woods view!!!!! I was able to get my last night , which is the sunday night (for obvious reasons).

I have been calling back and can't get AP or FL res for that time. My mom got FL res for her last two nights (Sat and Sun) in a courtyard room. Her first two nights are in a standard room, so she has to switch.

So I am paying 244.20 a night (with tax) at WL. My Lord, I can barely write it! ...

I would book something now off property. Try Down town Disney hotels at least you will still have Disney transportation. My niece loves the Grosvenor. Give the Swan and Dolphin a call too. When you book your hotel make sure you find out the cancellation policy. Then every day (if you can do it every day) call CRO. You never know when something might open up. I did this for one trip. I was told the Contemporary was sold out of AP rooms and about a week before the trip I got an AP rate

But if you have to stay off site don't worry too much. I stayed off site once and it wasnt bad. We were about 15 mins away. It was very easy to get to the parks and easy to park hope.

Have a great trip!

Just for the heck of it I called Swan and Dolphin at 1-888-828-8850. They have availability at the AP rate (they offer AP discounts too) of $139 at both the Swan and Dolphin. And being an ap holder you get upgraded to a lake view room.

I don't know if you know anything about the Swan and Dolphin but it's located in the Epcot area. It's not a Disney hotel but you still get Disney Transportation (Bus and boat or walkway to MGM and Epcot) and early entry. I have not stayed at the Swan and Dolphin but many that do rave over it. I have stayed in the Epcot area and I love that area. .
