We don't leave until Sunday morning! DH got out of work early today and started to help me, and we ended up getting everything done! Too bad he has to work tomorrow or we would try to get an earlier flight!!!!
I am about to bust!!!!!
:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

I suppose you could just continue to surf the Disboards and get even more excited about the trip until Sunday gets here:cool1:. Or drink an entire bottle of vodka now and then you'll just wake up Sunday morning:thumbsup2. I prefer the surfing myself but I just wanted to give you some options.

I'm leaving on Monday :cool1: but I still have packing and laundry to do :laundy: But it'll be here before I know it and I'll be relaxing at BLT.

I feel the same way! My DH took the day off and we have almost everything done. However we are not going to WDW this time. We are going to San Francisco on the Concierge collection and staying at the Fairmont. I'm so excited! I have never been to the west coast so it will be a great way to celebrate our 30th anniversary. I miss going to the world but we were there in May and will go again next May. It is so hard for me to give up a trip to Disney to go anywhere else. What is wrong with me!!:yay::yay:

I'm always filled with a great sense of anticipation and excitement before each trip to Disney, even though I've been there dozens of times!

Those last three days are the hardest --so excited, butterflies in the stomach, trouble going to sleep. My DH always wakes up so early the day of departure and tries hard not to wake me, but somehow I know he's awake. It's okay when we're driving to WDW--we just leave earlier. But when flying, I refuse to be at the airport more than 2 hours before flight.

Perhaps you should watch some of your favorite Disney movies when you have spare time. And double check your packing list.

Sigh, I just wish I was in your shoes. Oh, you're going to have so much fun!

I am washing and going to pack today. We leave Monday.

We are going to Vero 3 nights and WDW 6 nights but feel like just going to WDW:banana:

They'll send us to WDW if they evacuate for Storms. Just hoping for good weather and not storm surges.

:confused3

I read all the time about people packing several days and even weeks before leaving. Why is that? Not trying to stir anything, just honestly wondering.

Vero and WLV, what a great combo! Have a great time.

Go get a pedicure and go out for dinner tonight so you don't have dishes to wash/load in the dishwasher before you leave! :)

The way my work travel is looking, the day before we go to Disney, I'll be flying home from Europe. :scared1: Which means I have to be packed and ready to go before GOING to Europe. It also means my pre-vacation pedicure tradition is in serious danger...

I start packing 4 or 5 days before departure out of neccessity. DH only selects his clothes and I do everything else - my clothes, DD's clothes, everyone's toiletries, eyeglasses, sunglasses, sun lotions, medicines, medical devices, snacks, tickets, toys, magazines, DVC cards, money, etc etc etc. I have a packing list to make it easier, but getting out the door for vacation is work. But it's almost time and I am very excited! I've had some health issues and really need this vacation...

I completely understand. I also pack early....packing for 5 is a chore and I don't want to be pressed for time at the last minute. Plus once the packing is done, I can focus on making sure the house is in order, dog arrangements are taken care of, etc. And on the last day before we leave, I have to get that mani/pedi......can't pack after those nails are done!

Have a great vacation. Sounds like you need one! : )

I usually do all the packing for our family of 4. This is a lot of work! You need lots of stuff for a 2 and 5 year old! But, DH got home early yesterday and helped so much that we finished early! So today I was able to clean the house and am now relaxing with a nice glass of wine!
Anxiously awaiting tomorrow! Can't wait to be sipping wine with my sister at VWL!!!!!!!!!!!

You know we always drive so we don't have to make sure that we have everything in a certain number of bags. If we flew we'd probably plan a little earlier than we do.

For us, it's convenience. Since I care if DH and DS have clothes that actually match when we get there ;) I pack for them. (plus DH is a kind of spatially challenged, so packing efficiently is SO not his forte) I did ask DS to pack some of his own things last year (he was 6 at the time) and he packed a couple of stuffed animals, some airplanes and about 17 pairs of underwear. :rotfl: DH used to pack his own toiletries, but now that we have 2 Owner's Lockers, all he needs to bring is his electric razor.

It is VERY rare that the clothes we pack are in season at home (usually packing warm weather gear when it's cool or cold here), so packing ahead of time is easy since I'm not packing clothes that are in wearing rotation.

Packing is also a bit of a "hey, we're about to go on vacation" fun sort of thing. Plus our lives are so busy that I sometimes have to plan ahead so that I get it done without having to rush around last minute. (I hate that.) Our packing is a lot easier now that it used to be (again, thanks to Owner's Locker!), but I still like to get it done ahead of time. Not usually weeks, but it's not unusual for me to start 2 weekends before as the weekend is usually the only chance I have to do that sort of thing.

Of course, just yesterday I was thinking that instead of packing away all the shorts when the weather turns cold here, I'll just put them in a suitcase and set it aside so I have a head start. :)
