I remember that Ruth and Joe Martin weren't even married to each other yet when the show first started. Tara and Phil's son "Little Phil" later changed his name to Charlie and Ruth and Joe's son Joey changed his name to Jake.

Thank you, I couldn't remember Ellen and Mark's daughters name, it was Julie and she was played by Lauren Holly when she was a tween. I was young when all that happened, but I still remember Jenny dying. I don't remember Brooke as a teen, but do remember her being married to Tom and their little girl Laura that was killed when Barbara was supposed to be watching her. Boy, they really need to bring back some of the older generation to give this show some real content.

I really am glad Rebecca is back as Greenlee, though.

I think I was in middle school or just in high school when all that happened - I'm really dating myself now!!! I loved when Brooke came on the show. She was such a rebel & so much fun to watch.

Who remembers when Phil Brent, Chuck Tyler, Tara Martin were on?

I remember them - I started watching AMC with my mom when I was very young & have been hooked ever since. Now my 3 DD's watch it too.

Yeah, maybe Marcie was her name on Married W/ Children. I'm having a migraine type of day thanks to the weather!

I think her name was Marcie on AMC - maybe she means Amanda Cousins is the name of the actress.

Brooke came on the show in her late teens, early 20s. I remember she hooked up with bad boy Benny Sago, who was Phoebe's chauffeur. She was really wild then. Her Mom didn'twant her, if I remember correctly, I think her mom turned out to be a drug dealer (shades of Vanessa, Leo's Mom). I remember Julie loved Charlie and Cecily wanted him too. In fact Julie is how Bianca came by her name. Julie played Bianca in a Shakespeare play when Erica delivered Bianca. Sheesh, I'm telling my age now! I've watched AMC since it first started, wayyyy back when. As in I remember when Robin Strasser played Christina on AMC, when the girl that plays Chris' mom on Everyone Hates Chris was Mrs. Valentines granddaughter, Cliff & Nina, Cliff & Angie (anyone else remember that?), Billie Clyde and Estelle and Donna.......

I remember ALL of that. (showing my age!) I remember what I believe is one of the first shows..which was Joe's brother coming home in uniform from the war(Vietnam) walking up the front porch of the Martin home into the arms of his mother Kate.
Remember the blue checked curtains in Kate's kitchen? I used to love that kitchen. That was where a good many scenes took place, the family around the table, or in the living room of the Martin homestead. That and Phebee's mansion...when she was married to Charles, while he and Mona(Erica's mother) had an affair and fell in love.
I remember distinctly the day Brooke arrived on the back of a motor cycle. Leather jacket..she looked like she was out of Grease! Sort of similiar look when Haley arrived..she was a bit more goth..than greaser, but I remember thinking at the time "this has been done before".

OMG, Benny Sago I do remember I have a pic w/ the actress who played Donna she was making a appearance at the mall. I probably took off of school to go. With my mom of course. Remember Cliff and Nina (cliff now Jack Abbott on Y&R). Billie Clyde . Vanessa, Leo even Erica having Bianca I was not watching at that point. My mom has watched through the years. She loves the ABC soaps, and has her favorites on each show. I have to say though when we went to super soap, her getting into watch the AMC actors and then the outdoor question and answer w/Susan Lucci she was thrilled.

I do and really not kidding I was in grade school, but back then you came home for lunch. I just never wanted to go back I wanted to stay home w/mom and keep watching.

I remember Tara and Phil marrying themselves in the snow when Phil was supposed to go to Vietnam. Then Tara found out she was pregnant, Phil was MIA, presumed dead, and so Chuck married her to give the baby a father.

But how about Bobby Martin heading up the stairs to the attic to get his skis? He just disappeared and was never seen again.

I loved Estelle. Did you know that Billy Clyde was married to Christine Baranski in real life? (I think that is her name).

Gosh, I can't believe how long I've actually been watching & how young I must have really been when I started. It must have been elementary school, as I remember everything above!

Of course, from the day my DD's were born we ate lunch together & watched the show. I remember setting up little stools with tiny chairs in my family room so I could actually watch AMC & watch my kids at the same time while we were all eating lunch!!!(couldn't see the TV from the kitchen in our old house! )

Of course, I knew there were things they shouldn't be watching (& my MIL made sure I was aware of it also ) but, oh well, they've turned out fine & are just as hooked as I am now!!!

I thought Liza's friend was Amanda as well, so I looked it up! How big a soap nerd am I??!

The actress is Amanda Bearse. She was Amanda Cousins on AMC, Marcy Rhodes on Married with Children. Marcy Walker is the actress who played Liza. Too many of the same names!

Liza used to crack me up with her schemes and convincing Amanda to help her out. Amanda always reminded me of Ethel Mertz going along with it.

I loved Cliff and Nina, Jenny and Greg, Jesse and Angie. I think that's about the time I started watching. I don't remember Brooke being wild, I think she was already "good" by the time I started watching, but people still talked about "her past" quite a bit. Was she a prostitute at one point, or was that Donna?

I remember Benny and Estelle, and when Benny won the Trifecta and became addicted to gambling.

Donna was the prostitute. I started watching this show when I was in elementary school. I remember Phoebe calling Donna a harlot and I had to look up the word because I didn't know what it meant.

This is the tricky part. After Angie Left Pine Valley she turned up in NYC on Loving/The City (cancelled ABC 30 minutes soap replaced by PC). While there she met and married Jacob, Jessie's dead ringer. She was running a clinic or something and this girl was abandoned and later adopted by Jacob and Angie. They mentioned when she first turned up this week that she never got over her true love Jessie and had divorced Jacob. I guess this girl has been SORASed to a teen or older now! (actually I read that she had!). HTH

I remember Loving, but not The City. I watched Loving a little bit, but not enough to remember that.

i used to love the antics of liza, jenny and greg and liza's friend, can't remember her name right now. she helped liza do her dirty work. i remember liking the original opal but they did a pretty good job of replacing her. i'd have to say nubabe is probably the worst replacement in AMC history!

I did too, but this Opal is a hoot too! Remember when her and Palmer were married? Whatever happened to Petey?

I think Petey is supposed to be closer to JR's age than Colby's. Remember the one young actor that played Petey when Kendell babysat for him? He was a riot. I wish they would bring that character back with the same type attitude.
