I'll bet that you're right, Alicnwondrln - maybe she DID leave everything to Jamie, so now Jamie will be a "force to be reckoned with" and JR won't be able to keep "holding everything over him".
I got teary-eyed, Shugardrawers! Especially since Brooke was already upset because she was worried about Adam - and then came to the hospital and learned about Phoebe. Very sad. I like that Brooke is there for Adam, though - I always did like them together as a couple, too, Melsmice! I happened to meet Julia Barr - I "ran into her" the audience of a play, years ago, right before Brooke and Adam got back together the last time (around the time when he was courting her by volunteering in the shelter, donating furniture to it, etc.). I told her that I hoped that Brooke and Adam would get back together because - just what you said - she could keep him in line - and Julia Barr replied "heaven forbid! They would KILL each other!"........and then like 2 weeks later, Brooke and Adam got back together! Brooke sure has more chemistry with Adam than she did with Ed-dumb, when she was engaged to him a few years ago (even though Ed-dumb was supposed to be the love of her life). I wish that they didn't have Brooke dressed so "matronly" - I hate the outfit that she has on, now - they usually have her dressed so nicely when she's in her office, etc., but for Ed-dumb's event, they have her dressed like an old lady!
I also marveled at Maria's bra, Barb - it must have been pasted to her body, or something - I can't imagine what was keeping it from falling off! My DH was a good boy and said nothing..........!
I thought that Maria did an amazing job, over the past 2 days. She did wonderfully with her scene in the awards ceremony and she was actually kinda funny yesterday ("......where's my dress? Oh - THERE it is!"). I don't think that we've ever seen Maria drunk before - she's doing a great job! So glad that Ethan was (at least somewhat of) a gentleman and stopped things from going further when he realized that Maria thought that he was Zach. And so glad that Zach isn't "taking advantage of" her, either, and is watching out for her. When she asked him "Am I Maureen, now?" I'm sure that she was hoping that she really WAS, in a way..........so that she wouldn't have to go home and deal with her rude and bratty kids!
I was wondering the same thing about Mama Santos, Sarge - she's usually one to stick her nose into everyone's business, so it's amazing that she hasn't been around more to discipline her grandchildren, berate Maria, etc. (Of course the original actress who played the character wouldn't berate Maria - she would just keep everyone in line - the new witch who they got to replace her would be sure to be as rude as the kids, though!) And I thought the same thing when we heard that Julia was returning - Mateo left right after Maria returned - Maria came back just after Rosa left - they can never have too many Santos's in PV at once, I guess! And you're right - maybe Julia can knock some sense into her bratty niece and nephew (especially since Anita will be on maternity leave, over the summer).
Once again, I know that I'm in the minority, here, but I kinda thought that those scenes with Kendall and JR were pretty hot! I wouldn't mind getting into that hot tub with him........!
