OK, so who thought Maria's little "acceptance speech" was hysterical?

I had a feeling she had a few too many glasses of champagne. :rotfl2:

If Maria's speech was hysterical, I'd like to see if she was really out of control. The previews made it sound like it would be a tirade and it was a flat speech for about1 minute at the end of the show.

The good thing about today is that Kendall finally changed her dress. How many days will she be in this frock.

I'm thinkin' the tirade might continue next week. ;)

Yes, Kendall changed her dress finally - better than the green one, but I do hope she doesn't wear it for a week again. :rotfl:

He's under the strange misconception that Dixie's "influence" will "soften JR's heart" and will cause him to allow Babe to see Little Adam more often (?!?!). He also wants to "stick it to Tad" by having him fall in love with someone who will remind him so much of Dixie (and perhaps even "be" Dixie).......and then have her disappear and leave town. David thinks that "bringing Dixie back" will generally shake up the Chandler / Martin households, (and you know how David likes to cause trouble!) and will somehow result in good things happening for Babe.

okay, thanks alot for that explanation. Now, is this Di really Dixie or what?

This may be old -- I just read that Eva LaRue posted on her website last week that she will b leaving AMC. The article says her last appearance will be this spring....which is rapidly heading toward summer.

Yeah Pam, I have a feeling that Maria will have some sort of nervous breakdown (how can she NOT, with those 2 disrespectful kids, Kendall probably marrying Zach, Wildwind reminding her of her disappointment in Ed-dumb, and Brooke controlling the family finances?!) and then leave town over the summer. It's too bad - I really used to like Maria's character - but they've had her acting so obnoxious lately that I can't say that I would miss her very much. Another ruined character - just like Ed-dumb.

Speaking of which, I have a feeling that Maria's upcoming drunken tirade will be reminiscent of Erica's, when she accepted the Woman of the Year award, years ago, when she was addicted to painkillers (does anyone remember that?! It was a GREAT scene, that was preceded by her telling off Maria and Brooke in the ladies' room.)! In fact, I immediately thought of that scene (the writers probably wanted us to remember it) when Erica reminded Maria about how she stole her prescription pad, called her "Saint Maria of the Push Up Bra", etc. in the ladies' room, yesterday. I have a feeling that it's going to be the same thing all over again, with Maria telling off everyone in the room. It looks like she has some choice words with Ethan afterwards, too. I wonder if he will be the one to get her off the stage and save her from further embarrassment?

MARY AND PALMER??!! What a weird pairing! I wonder how long it will be before Opal throws her hat back into the ring and tries to win Palmer back, for good? It WAS nice to see Mary, though - she's very funny - it's too bad that they don't have more for her to do.

I liked Stuart's discussion with Di, yesterday - I had predicted that he would actually think that she WAS Dixie when he first came upon her, but he did notice the resemblance.

Jillpie - I don't think that Di is really Dixie, I think that she just happens to look a bit like her and happens to have been in a bad car accident in the past. I suspect that the writers are sort of "leaving it open", though, so that they COULD have her "be" Dixie if they wanted to, in the future (ie: as Di becomes more a "part of the family" in the Chandler home, maybe she'll start remembering some Dixie-like things that only Dixie would know). The thing that throws me off is that when Di was still in prison, they showed her singing "You are My Sunshine" (Dixie's song for JR) at the exact moment that JR happened to be singing that song to Little Adam, and she also said "Tad" in sort of a longing way, when she first saw Tad come to visit Krystal. So maybe they eventually WILL reveal that she really IS Dixie (with amnesia, of course). But at this point, we're to believe that she's just a lookalike.

Well here's my theory. If Cady McClain ever came back she wouldn't and if Cady stayed with ATWT they'd take the Di charector in that direction.

Since I just got back on the AMC bandwagon recently, can anyone tell me if Maria was ever a "nice" character? She does seem rather nasty now - of course if I had the life she has, I would be too. Just wondering if she turned sour, or was she always a meanie?

Actually Maria used to be very nice - that's why Erica sarcastically referred to her as "Saint Maria". She was very sweet and (somewhat) innocent when she met and married Ed-dumb, and they were "the perfect couple". She came from a very strict, traditional, religious family and never did anything "wrong" (well........before she married Ed-dumb, she had an illicit affair with Dixie's half brother Del, which resulted in a pregnancy and an abortion which she thought left her unable to have children.......and later she had an affair with her brother-in-law Dimitri, while he was married to Erica.........but that's beside the point!). She was very nice to everyone and everyone loved her (except Erica, who always resented her - particularly when she (Erica) was hooked on painkillers and Maria was trying to give her "tough love", and after she had the affair with Dimitri - and Brooke, who was always sort of jealous / adversarial with her because Ed-dumb married her and not Brooke (even though it was Brooke who rejected Ed-dumb)). I think that Maria's being this way now because she feels that her life is spinning out of control and everything that she thought was true was not, she doesn't know who to believe or trust, etc.

I've never really been a big Maria fan, until today! I liked her drunken rant. As she said to Ethan, if you're going to use me as a weapon, might as well be loaded. (or something like that ;)

Kind of liked all the little romances today.....Kendall and Junior, remember when JR was frogboy and he had a crush on her?! Brooke and Adam, didn't they sleep together just recently? Maria and Ethan....

Ryan looked very thin today. He's not working out as much anymore....

I totally enjoyed today's episode. I can't wait to see what's going to become of Adam after his "episode". And Ethan and Maria - I guess we should have seen that one coming.

I was cleaning during one part (don't know if it was the actual show or the coming attraction) where JR says to Kendall "I want you to take all your clothes off". Perhaps he's sick of her ugly dresses too. ;)

SPOILERS

- JR gives Kendall the go-ahead to get hitched with Zachery.
- Oh, JR’s not done with Kendall, quite the opposite.
- JR’s getting to Di, in a good way. The con might be softening toward her mark.
- Tad finds himself really really digging this Di, as if by kismet.
- The twist could be that Di herself doesn’t even know she’s really Dixie with amnesia.
- Poor, pathetic Maria. See how she humiliates herself in a tailspin.
- Maria and Kendall in a catfight, meorrrw! And over Zach, too. Hot.
- Zach wants Maria for his own still, very much. And yet, he cannot allow himself to go there again and get burned.
- Adam’s affection for Brooke grows, as his love for her is rekindled.
- Ryan is adamant about remaining childless, forever.
- Next week: Color Jackson astonished at what Erica tempts Kendall with. A doubting Erica backs off her plans to wed Jack. Ryan will go to extremes to prevent the Lavery legacy from contaminating the next generation. Kendall becomes Ryan’s last hope. Phoebe has died, and her survivors must mourn her properly; they do, including Linc, Kelly, Chuck, Tom and Benny. Jamie catches sight of his mom with Adam, and it makes his blood boil.

Well over on the other board it's seems pretty certain Julia Santos is coming back. Also rumors abound Keith Hamilton Cobb is all set to leave Y&R. You know I was thinking (yeah I know dangerous) But I really hope they give him a good storyline and shake up some of the neat haircut, suit wearing tie types they have.

I am loving the spoilers. I was really hoping that when Phoebe died they would bring back some of the faces from the past. Finally...something to be excited about. I have missed the last 3 shows...don't even care enough anymore to watch. Hmm...the only thing I am excited about is seeing people from 20+ years ago...wonder what that says? ;)

Just read tv guide, May 13th is the funeral.

AHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Julia and Noah might come back??? I will be BEYOND THRILLED. Two of my favorite characters!!!!! :cool1:

Julia and Noah would be the best thing to happen to AMC in a long time!!!!!!! Of course they have been happy all these years they've been gone, and if they come back, they'll have to make them unhappy, because we all know couples can't be happy in Pine Valley LOL.

I'm really enjoying the Brooke/Adam scenes today. Not so much the Kendall/JR ones they don't seem to have any romantic chemistry together but as friends they're great.

I don't know what it is, but I just love Zach. If Maria is leaving the show, what will happen to Zach? Has anyone heard anymore about this?
