I also can't stand Derek - I don't like the character or the actor. They could make some great storylines with someone that was likeable in that position.

I don't like what they've done with Jack's character. I really like Walt Willey, but they should have gone in a different direction with him. He's too talented to only use him for whining & yelling. He has a constant wrinkled brow. He's starting to remind me of Edmund before he left. It's too bad.

Just can't take Jeff Martin seriously either. He just reminds me of a washed up 40 something "wanna be stud". I know they're trying to make him look good, but he looks like a balding, slightly overweight guy. I don't see any chemistry between him & Erica - JMO.

I do like the "new" Jonathan. Like him & Amanda together. Where is Aiden? Did I miss him leaving. If they aren't going to put him & Erin together then they should put Erin & Jamal together. Or at least give someone to Jamal - he's a hottie!

OK guys I need to know who Derek is. Like I said I'm still pretty new to the show!!!!!!!!

Derek is the chief of police in PV and Livia's (the attorney) brother.

Alright - time for a rundown of the stupidity in Pine Valley this week:

No, let's start with the sensible stuff first - that's a much shorter list. ;)

Jack FINALLY showing he still has a heart! Oh happy day! Like Mel said, I was getting sick of him scowling and yelling all the time. So kudos to whoever decided to give us back the Jackson Montgomery we used to know. :thumbsup2

Alright, back to the utterly ridiculous. :teeth:

Annie shooting Ryan. What for? Does it hold any water in the larger scheme of things? No. It was a useless way to give Annie some more lines. Her character is simply dullsville and unless it gets ramped up big time soon - I say, throw her in the freezer with Trevor.

Agreed that Jamal needs a love interest - soon. This guy is way too good looking to play kindergarten cop to a preschooler. ;)

David, David, David... he's such a slime. "Emma, wanna lollipop little girl?" Ugh. But for some reason, I LOVE his character. Call in Barry Scheck, Hayward's got some fine undegraded DNA specimens! :stir:

Sean Montgomery - can anyone say "weasel"? This guy is NOT my idea of a hot young stud that every girl in town would be drooling over - my cat could take him down with her eyes closed.

Colby's been deflowered and is feeling pangs of regret. 'Scuse me while I find my Kleenex. :rotfl: If she ends up with Skinny Boy as her baby's daddy, I'll probably need to watch the show with a bucket next to the couch.

What else have we got???? :confused3

Oh yes! How did I forget - the BEST scene this week - Myrtle getting on Zach's case - LOVED it! :teeth: Reminded me of the days when she'd pull Langley Wallingford aside and whisper "Hey Lenny, care to play some five card for sour mash shots?" Ooohh, those were the good old days. :smokin:

Enough of the naked teenagers. :guilty:

I was wondering how Jonathan got into the cabin. Terry had to strain to push the thing in front of the door, so how did Jonathan get in? I guess we're not supposed to notice that. :)

I liked seeing Little A sober. It was a nice change. :rotfl:

How I agree! I am so grossed out by seeing naked, sex scenes with teens, that is just gross, and wrong!

Agree too with seeing Little A with a personality. He does move and laugh! ;)

And the show has done LOTS of skipping scenes lately, jumping from one scenerio to another without any links. I find that just as annoying as the camera work.

Here is an article I found about Dr Death aka Hayworth's departure. I must say, I am sad to see him go.

The Doctor is Out: Irizarry to Exit AMC
Posted Thursday, September 14, 2006 1:57:59 PM
Posted Sunday, September 17, 2006 11:12:32 AM

Though initially unconfirmed by ABC at "post time," All My Children is now confirming a report made by soapcentral.com last week that Vincent Irizarry (David Hayward) will be leaving All My Children within the upcoming weeks. The decision to fire Irizarry may come as a shock to fans, but from a budgetary standpoint the network has been paying the high caliber actor for little on-screen time.

"He is a wonderful actor and a true gentleman and I thank him for his years of dedication to the show," said AMC's executive producer Julie Hanan Carruthers.

Irizarry joined the cast of All My Children in November 1997 and, as planned, remained with the show on a short-term basis through March 1998. However, fans and network execs were so taken by Irizarry's portrayal of the dastardly Dr. Hayward that the actor was offered a long-term contract in July 1998, just a few months after his exit. The news of his exit was confirmed in a message by Irizarry's official web site.

In recent months, though, the two-time Daytime Emmy nominee has been relegated to the sidelines. Irizarry's alter ego is seen infrequently and has not had a front burner storyline of his own since the departure of his on-screen love, Finola Hughes (Anna Devane) in September 2003.

Before joining the cast of All My Children, Irizarry enjoyed a run on CBS's Guiding Light in not one, but two different roles. From 1992 to 1996, Irizarry portrayed Nick McHenry Spaulding and from 1984 to 1986 he tackled the role of Brandon "Lujack" Luvanoczeck. In 1985, Irizarry earned a Daytime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Younger Man.

In 2002, Irizarry earned his second Daytime Emmy nomination. This time around, the All My Children star was nominated in the Outstanding Lead Actor category.

With the resolution of the "Who Killed Greg Madden" storyline coming in the weeks ahead, some fans are already wondering if Irizarry's exit will in some way be tied to that story.

Since the exit was fueled by budget and storyline reasons, the role of David will not be recast. A final airdate for Irizarry has not been made public.

Oh geez, another jumps ship.....

AMC Newcomer Patrick Decides He Wants Out
Posted Sunday, September 17, 2006 1:32:34 AM

Another All My Children actor has opted out of the show, but this time the exit was not dictated by storyline or budget cuts. Newcomer Marcus Patrick (Jamal Cudahy) has asked the show to be released from his contact.

Just three months ago (four since he started taping), Patrick assumed the role of a now-grown Jamal Cudahy, the adopted son of Livia Frye and Tom Cudahy. In fact, for a while All My Children's casting department referred to Patrick's role as "Marcus." The decision to bring Jamal back to Pine Valley came with a bit of odd time: Tonya Pinkins (Livia Frye) had just been released from her contract and placed on recurring status.

A source tells soapcentral.com that Patrick was "completely elated" to have joined the AMC cast and "raced about how the AMC vast and crew were the most enjoyable he has ever worked with."

Now, however, the EngliWest Coast native has apparently grown tired of life on the East Coast.

"The benefits of leaving outweighed the [benefits of] staying," the insider continues. "So, he will be headed back to California to continue dancing, training his clients and auditioning again."

In addition to his brief stint on All My Children, Patrick has appeared in several feature films, including "Descent" and "Dirty Laundry." His latest flick, "The Inevitable Undoing of Jay Brooks" is currently in post-production. Outside daytime television, the actor has made guest-starring appearances on CSI: Miami, Half & Half and My Wife and Kids.

An All My Children spokesperson declined to comment, stating that it is not network policy to comment on actors' contracts. However, it has been reported that the role of Jamal will be recast.

A final airdate for Patrick has not been made available.

Oh and guess what.....you all will find this hard to believe, I am sure....

Ratings crash!
AMC suffers record low ratings, tied with GL for second-to-last place.

I am saddened by David Hayward's departure. I think Vince is a great actor plus he's the only one that hates JR as much as I do. I have thought all along David was the murderer, but to be honest, the show is so uninspiring right now that I don't care who killed GM. I will try to remember David in all his Labidizone glory. Yep, that's how I want to remember him.

Me too, but now we know.....HE probably Buried Madden! ;) I will miss seeing his un-shaven face :guilty:

It's too bad the character of David will be written out of the show. He can be annoying, but when given a good storyline he is great.

I can't believe the actor that plays Jamal is leaving - he is just so easy on the eyes!!!

Ok, but in reality how many times have you all sat in front of the TV during or after one of David's stunts and wished you could jump into the TV and just smack the tar out of him? I have many times. While I'm sad to see him leave, I will have to find someone new to hate on the show.

Yes, Mary, I have. But, isn't that what makes a good soap???? And they're struggling with ratings! Firing Hayward isn't going to help with that---now, firing writers, I could get excited about!

Well that's a brilliant move, fire an actor who can actually act. Good that leaves room for another untalented teenager to come onto the show.
