ABC (Disney) needs to shell out some $$$$ and stop that horrible amateur looking video - my gosh, it is worse than home movies!!!

I wish that these soaps would sell sets of DVD's from different years. I have been watching AMC since it began.

The story lines are getting so boring lately....and I agree, between the boring story and the shaking camera, I fall asleep too......zzzzzz

If a character could come back, I'd like to see Laura English. I know she's dead, but stranger things have happened around here. So, she could come in and give Brook a storyline, and Jamie could be like"what? another sibling?" Who could she date? Maybe Josh---that would be good.

I am over Dixie too!! I used to like her back when she was regular on the show, even tho I think she is here to stay. She is such a whiner lately and just can't handle life without a man fixing it for her. She needs to go!!!

Why or why do these shows bring back charactors and then completely ruin them, Dixie, Julia and now all these teeny boppers are showing up. Same thing happened at Days of our Lives, now that show is firing everyone. Buttttt I love Kendall when she gets going, if only she'd gain some weight, it's very distracting.

New Production Format Is Off to a Shaky Start

For the past few weeks, the "cam" on the lips of most All My Children fans has not been resident hunk Cameron Mathison. No, but according to some irate viewers this "cam" is a hunk of something else.


By now you've surely noticed the difference. Several thousand All My Children fans have contacted soapcentral.com over the past few weeks to ask one question: What's going on with the filming technique currently being used on AMC?

In June, an AMC spokesperson told soapcentral.com that the new production techniques were used in conjunction with the "launch of ConFusion" and the appearance of R&B songstress, Rihanna. The new-fangled camera techniques were designed to give the show a different feel.

However, the spokesperson assured soapcentral.com that the new filming procedure was only being used for that portion of the story.

Now, nearly two months later, the same production value remains in place on the show.

"The way in which media integrates into our daily lives is changing at a rapid pace. As a result, the world is becoming more accessible and 'inclusive' than ever before," All My Children's executive producer Julie Hanan Carruthers tells soapcentral.com. "We want to embrace that spirit at All My Children by offering our audience, for the first time ever, the chance to follow the characters as they move through the emotional journeys of their lives."

That new experience is made possible through the use of a type of steady-cam. For all intents and purposes, a steady-cam, or handicam, is an upscale version of a camcorder than many people use to record their home movies. These cameras are traditionally cheaper and easier to use than traditional cameras used in television production.

"We look forward to offering viewers access to even more unexplored corners (and secrets!) of Pine Valley in the future, and we appreciate the support of our loyal audience as we create this new and exciting addition to the All My Children tradition of great stories and dynamic characters," Carruthers added.

While fans have been critical of the new format, the new camera work has received high praise from the media.

"The special video process... added a grainy, cinematic quality to the visuals. The entire show had a classy appearance reminiscent of prime time and brought daytime to another level," says Soap Opera Weekly's Erica Brown.

Eden Riegel Returning to AMC

Eden Riegel (Bianca Montgomery) will reprise her Emmy-winning role on All My Children next month. Though the actress has made three limited-run engagements on the ABC soap since her exit in February 2005. This return, however, is slated to last much longer.

But don't ask how long.

The details of Riegel's return are a closely guarded secret. The actress is unable to confirm exactly how long she'll be back in the fictional town of Pine Valley, however, Riegel assures fans that she will "definitely" be around longer than her three previous guest-starring stints.

The promise of great story and the opportunity to return to New York are what drew Riegel back to All My Children.

"AMC made me an offer that was impossible to refuse," Riegel explains. "[Head writer Megan McTavish] has some really exciting stories and there's really good stuff coming. I feel so lucky and blessed."

Riegel states that she does not know how the show will address her relationship with Maggie, previously played by Elizabeth Hendrickson. Off-screen, thanks to a loosely-constructed work schedule, Riegel will commute back and forth to her loved ones in Los Angeles.

"I am thrilled to have Eden return to All My Children' She continues to be a cherished member of this talented ensemble. Bianca's presence enriches the canvas, and we all look forward to having her back home," says executive producer Julie Hanan Carruthers.

Riegel joined the cast of All My Children in July 2000. Her work on the show earned her four Daytime Emmy nominations in the Outstanding Younger Actress category. In 2005, Riegel took home the gold.

Riegel's first day on the set is scheduled for September 12th. Her on-screen return will come nearly one month later on October 11th.

Kendall warns Dixie that she will destroy her if she tries to take Zach away from her.

Derek makes it clear that he doesn't buy the ruse that Zach and Dixie are using as their alibi.

Realizing they need to step things up a notch, Kendall and Ryan give an award winning performance to make Derek less suspicious.

JR gleefully taunts David about Dixie turning to another man and no longer needing him anymore.

David plots revenge on Dixie, but later finds a photo of Kate in Dixie's room and realizes that it's the same little girl he saw in the park.

David knocks JR unconscious when he catches David snooping in Dixie's room.

Desperate to find someone who is likewise challenged, Lily turns to the internet.

Lily types herself into danger when she unknowingly chats with Terry who plays a game to trap her and set up a meeting.

Jonathan fears for Lily's safety when he learns that Ryan is baiting Terry to return to Pine Valley.

Ryan becomes aware of David spying on him, Annie and Emma at the carnival and wonders what he is up to.

Dixie tries to make things right with David.

Sean realizes he is being used as a pawn to fuel the animosity between Colby and Sydney.

Tad is furious when he sees Zach hunched over JR's unconscious body and gets the wrong idea.

Dixie is stunned by Tad's rage towards her and realizes he could destroy her.

Jeff, Erica and Krystal have a confrontation over Josh and Babe's growing relationship.

Kendall and Ryan find themselves growing closer as a result of their ruse.

Things get worse for Zach and Dixie.

JR makes Tad realize that he needs to do the right thing.

Ryan blows Kendall away with his confession to her.

Zach and Dixie finds themselves precariously close to losing their freedom.

I asked my DH when he met her at Super Soap. She's pretty bony. Collar bone. Shoulder bones. But, he said she's striking in person.....really gorgeous. She's stunning in the pictures and he said she's positively beautiful in person.

Now, Thorsten Kaye.....oh, man.....the cameras just don't do that man justice. If he didn't have all that security.....I would have just dove on him and tackled him and faced the consequences.

How is everyone, Christine thanks for the "Spoliers." I missed the show ALL last week, as I was at WDW from Sat.-tuesday. It was a nice trip, only due to the "free dining" crap it was WAY too crowded! I swear, there is NO slow season anymore. Even some of the CM's I talked to couldn't believe it! Anyway, back to AMC.....how did Lily find out that Jonathon is "OK" now? Can someone fill me in on that? Also, what are Dixie and Zach doing together??? Accck!

Jonathan stopped the trial to have Lily delcared incompetent. The prosecution or whatever Jack's side is called was badgering Lily and getting her confused. Jonathan stood up an told them to stop. He then took Lily in the back room and told her the truth. That's it in a nut shell.

It has been busy here at work with lunch meetings and such and I haven't seen the show very much lately. It is at the point I really don't care about any of the story lines.
