Notice also how they call the abortion that Erica went for a "termination"..it's like they don't want to say the real word. Does that make this gross story easier to take if they don't mention the "a" word. It is what it is...if they chose to go down this road....as disgusting as it is...they let's call it what it is. Or is that something the admired Erica...queen of all mothers..wouldn't do? Only she would and did back then. Another re-write coming this way.
I quite agree that if they were going to give Erica this long lost son..they could have gone with the "stolen egg" storyline....no they add insult to injury with this stolen fetus...errr...embryo...I guess it depends on how far along she was when she went for the abortion. Any way you look at it...kind of gross. What happened to a womans right to privacy...obviously not respected here. So much for Dr./ Patient confidentiality ....only now you are supposed to worry about your doctor being a embryo theirf...WIERD.

And I agree with Auntie and Sarge and everyone's thoughts about the inappropriateness about a benefit for the Red Cross ending in very explicitly displayed disaster, and about the inevitable images of the aftermath of 9/11, Oklahoma City, the states destroyed or damaged by the recent hurricanes and fires, etc. I found those scenes to be very creepy and disturbing, in general, as well. I suppose that the writers accomplished what they wanted to accomplish, because the explosion itself and the scene just after certainly left me with an unsettled feeling. The fact that we know that at least one person (ie: major character) is going to die makes it all the worse. Another ironic thing is that I recall an explosion storyline had been planned, just before the Oklahoma City tragedy occurred (Janet was planning to blow up the church during Trevor and Laurel's wedding), and then they changed the storyline at the last minute, with Robin Mattson coming on before the episode, explaining why the storyline was going to take another direction (I thought that that was in good taste). It's ironic that Janet happened to be the one to cause this explosion, as well.

That on top of Josh's "true identity" - I still wonder how (if?) they are going to explain that, medically speaking.

Another ironic thing - when Hayley and Mateo's Holidays restaurant blew up / burned down, years ago, I remember Tad being the first (only?) one to wake up in the aftermath.........and Dixie was there to help pull him out of the rubble, having just returned from Pidgeon Hollow, years after having left him (after his affair with Liza and Michael Delaney's shooting). It's sort of ironic that she is back, now, and that Tad once again is going to be the one to save everyone..........and Dixie is there, as well.

Enough with Babe and JR and the prenup's, already!

On one happy note, it was nice to see Stuart and Marian, for a few seconds!

Patrick is doing much better today, no more fever and his appetite is back. He woke up to find about 8 Valentine Balloons tied to his car, from his Girlfriend. How sweet! Isn't love grand! Now, back to AMC--I guess I will stay awake to watch the show today. If I miss I will just remember the "other" explosion shows, they are about the same.

I was beginning to wonder last night when I was watching yesterday's episode. What if they kill off more people than just Ethan. This was just a guess, but it was weird to me that Marion conveniently appeared right before the explosion. I hope they don't kill off Marion.

I was wishing that when Tad asked it anyone was alive, that a disembodied voice would shout out, no we're all dead. I would think his first thought would be for Jamie, but what do I know.

Someone mentioned that maybe Dixie died this time for real. I think our sweet Dixie has 9 lives, like a cat. This would only be like 3 or 4.

So glad to hear I'm not the only one sick to death of Erica, Erica Kane. I have always hated her character. She's a post menopausal whiny, spoiled, vain, selfish brat. What is it supposed to be that men find so attractive??? That got old about 30 years ago. And so did she by the way.

Keeping Erica on front burner...I don't really have a problem with that..but could we please have her age? Just a bit...I mean they have this woman who has been on this show for 35 years play someone who is about 45. In real life she has got to be well into her mid 50's probably more. Just saying can we see some age appropriate situations. I mean I am 47 and started watching this show on the first day it was on..and Erica was in highschool..and I was in jr. high school. I know she is older than I am. Yet now...they have her playing someone much younger. She had kendall when she was supposed to be 14....yet Kendal appears to be in her 20's on the show. It really doesn't add up for anyone who has watched for any length of time. We are still dealing with Erica's fertility? Come on. And these skimpy cocktail dresses she wears in the middle of Feb?.She plays this business exec..now tv star...only she looks like a straight pin with a HUGE head on top!. Sometimes it looks as if her head is so big compared to her body..she should tip over from the weight of it. How about a blazer...how about a pair of slacks..not a cocktail dress. No one would dress like that..let alone a woman in her 50's that wanted to be taken seriously in business. How about a menopause story...I'd rather see someone of that age take on a real life issue...Let's have Erica do menopause...on second thought...maybe that's why she has on those skimpy dresses...it's the HOT FLASHES!

Okay -- you got my curiousity going. A Google search of Susan Lucci's age came up with the fact that she admits her birthday is December 23 but is pretty fuzzy on which year. Different sources have it ranging from 1946-1948 and one source says it can be confirmed she graduated high school in 1964. Looks like La Lucci is roughly 60 years old. Kendall is looking pretty good for 45.

Nick Davis..boy forgot all about him. Erica has been around a LONG time. I called my friend who I grew up with..and we both used to watch AMC when it first came on..I thought we were in Jr. High..she said we were probably in 6th grade at the time...so Erica was a high school senior...she has to be at least 57 years old or more. I can't believe they are still centering stories on her fertility issues...NUTS. Kendall sure does look good for being 45! You are right that they shouldn't be showing old clips with Nick...Erica's mother's friend..and then boyfriend..and that was taboo at the time...I wish they would portray her as a dignified 50 ish woman...accomplished and someone who has come to terms with what life has sent her way. No..they leave that to Myrtle... Especially since Aunt Phobee and Mona have passed. It's kind of ridiculous having her be this aging ..starlet in Las Vegas...PLEEZE. How many 5'2" show girls do you know of? That was REALLY hard to watch. I think I needed the booze, instead of her to get through that...and they reminded us of that when she had the flash backs of Vegas when she stabbed Zack...another bad flashback.

She was talking to Nick about how there weren't any Pine Valley men fabulous enough for her. The world was waiting for her and she wasn't going to be held back. I think it was the lead up to why she chose the "termination" rather than have a baby with Jeff. It was all quite ground-breaking and daring at the time.
